Did I just get some random sneak peeks of the new banner? Haha love it! But I think it should be the size of the current one... not a big fan of it being shorter.

its actually the banner for all the forums EXCEPT the front page. its smaller, not as complex, and is quicker to download. the front page banner is bigger and slower to load. this should speed everyone up on the other pages.

Well, I am researching allowing people to chat with a client (like aim or trillian) on your PC or Phone without having to be on the site. Does that interest people?

Not that anyone cares, but I finally got XCache running. Should speed up the board a good bit. There are few geeks to brag to on this board.... sigh...

WIth your update, the "Go to" and "Top" buttons changed.

Now the "Top" button is a link and you can't "go to" anywhere, just the main forum. Not sure if that was your intent, just passing on the observation.

King, is there a way to have someone notified when they are mentioned (ala facebook)? Sometimes, I've seen a post like "wonder if ACEDAD knows the answer?" and it's been there for weeks and I never looked at the thread. If that would show as an alert, it would be wonderful.

I suggested this to King a while back and he shot me down
but maybe since other people agree he will think it is a good idea now!! lol

im not sure if someone posted this already,but if we could be able to post albums of photos on our profiles like it is set up on facebook.

Although I agree the tagging may be helpful, I think the photo albums makes this too much into facebook. If you want to share pictures with people, just become facebook friends.

The reason that is bad is because a forum is a group conversation. When you start tagging individuals you make one side conversations that are hard for anyone but the two people talking to follow (that is what the software developer told me).
