I just don't think the USASF is trying to prevent squads from having "ritualistic" entries onto the floor. I think they are trying to prevent the overdramatic, we think we are the deal, parade around for 2 minutes, chest bump every athlete on the floor, etc. etc. type of entry. We all know there's a difference. IMO, SOT's entries are NOT over dramatic. They come on the floor with quiet confidence and it shows.

Right, but ritualistic could be as benign as a high 5, which has been specifically mentioned. I guess I should state, I'm not against the rule, but don't agree with it being overbearing.

We do know the difference between that and parading around. And as yojaehs
mentioned in a reply, those *could* be addressed more specifically, but it's easier to make a blanket rule, and make everybody pay the price. Something else I don't agree with.

Rules are rules. Break them and you lose. Yeah, they can behave. I hope everyone learns through their life you don't tug on Superman's cape, not everyone has. We're crazy but we ain't dumb.

It might cost them more money to buy out their contract and lease a new place for this event and the net result would be net loss. I see how hard it is to get out of RE leases because the market isn't there for tenants.

I think the reason they stay there is not that it would cost to get out of a contract, rather that they are making money staying there! Kickbacks for rooms, park hopper passes etc. Plus Varsity is listed as a corporate sponsor of the WWOS!

Completely agree that they have "overdone" the rule. Hoping it gets adjusted like everything else they announce seems to after a huge outcry. :)

So 30 secs on 30 secs off, everyone is ok with? So if you dog pile, parade around the floor, get set, perform, then chest bump, hug and dog pile within the time allowed everyone is fine? Oh and everyone gets to use kingston timer as a countdown clock. Every second over is a penalty. Guess what people (minus the high 5 and hug) you'll be doing the SAME THING! It's worded weird but the rule speeds up comp and prevents obnoxiousness.

i just feel the focus is going in a completely irrelevant direction and there are a lot more pressing issues that should be at the top of the usasf's agenda.

I apologize if this has been answered, but I'm at work and didn't have time to go through all of the pages right now.

I plan on buying the $210 3 day park hoppers. This includes 2 days of admission to WWoS. If I make my two days Sun. and Mon. will I be allowed in all three sessions on Monday, or would one session count as my second day and then I would have to pay separately for the other two?

So I just texted my other half and told him that the USASF answer to overcrowding was to raise the ticket prices to get in. I broke down the daily cost hit send and waited. His reply "that'll do it" supply and demand.

can we all start something along the lines of sprinting off the mat and collapsing or celebrate or crowd surf or something like that after the routine then?

but i will say it does take forever for some teams to get off the mat, some more than others. i get where they are coming from. but what if they were allowed to celebrate but made sure they got off the mat after 15-30 seconds.

I understand that wherever you go in life there are rules you have to follow - whether you agree with them or not & at our gym we would INSIST that every athlete in our gyms follows them.
My problem is with the new pricing for worlds. Our gym only has one level 5 team & every year all of our coaches & a lot of our other athletes and families attend worlds to support our team. This year - not so sure.

I don't think some people realize how difficult and expensive it is to break a CONTRACT. it's just not them saying, year after year, "Let's do this thing at Disney again!" They legally HAVE to. Unless they pay a buttload of money. Do we really think Disney wants us to leave? You all think the USASF makes a lot of money on Worlds...think about how much money DISNEY makes! The price to break that contract is probably a LOT higher than most of us think it would/should be, because Disney doesn't want to lose that business. Can we please stop suggesting that as an offer? Because it's not just as simple as "break the contract and move." Breaking that contract will result in price increases just as much as what we're seeing now. And (as someone else said) right away, we won't get all of the benefits that we do having it there right now (basically everyone staying in the same place, transportation to and from venue from hotel, multiple venues for the competition, etc.)

**I know we have outgrown WWoS. I'm not arguing that we should never move. But we are obligated to remain there for a few more years. And I'll deal with price increases for convenience for a little longer until we can work out logistics somewhere else.

I'm so upset about the price increase. What our family watched last year for $150 will this year cost us $510. That's a percentage hike of what???

A simple time limit to begin and exit after performing would have been enough of an explanation to the deductions, most importantly though is actually applying the rule. Give someone a deduct and poof problem solved.

But to actually include a high 5 a chest bump does nothing but let our minds run wild. and does this rule apply to international teams since we have issues communicating some rules. We can make pictures LOL
