In small gyms, with no Mini or youth teams, the only option is to put them on a junior team. It should not be an issue as long as their skills are on level. They aren't there to socialize, (as one post said) so it shouldn't be a problem with the 14 year olds talking about high school with some 9 year olds. Also, I think it's great to also have a sort of "big sister" on the team. I used to always look up to the senior girls and just want to be able to cheer with them when I was around 8. So yes, if there isn't a youth or mini team and the cheerleaders skills are on level with that team and you believe you could do it, it shouldn't be a problem.
