I cant see this working... I live right outside of detroit in a city thats known for having a ton of people that move from Iraq and their culture is just SO different. Parents are often a lot stricter.
So do you have to speak a different language to qualify, I mean I am on international decent, pretty much everyone is, I don't understand how they could turn anyone away from the verbage they used, it sounds like a free youth team to me. Literally.
exactly, If they would of worded it a little different, maybe 'if you are new to the states and moved here from an international location this is the team for you' maybe that that would make more sense but hey, free team right? lol.I'm with you. With the wording, pretty much EVERYONE in the US that's of youth age would qualify for this. We're all of "international descent", aren't we? (Well, except Native Americans I guess...so maybe they should have just said "Open to everyone except Native Americans") So if I lived closer to Midwest, I could take my 10-year-old cp for a free youth team?

I am not quite sure, but maybe to introduce kids to the sport? I am intrigued to see what comes of it, yet I have idea what the need for it is.So, let's assume that this is what they meant. What is the purpose? If everything goes 100% right, what is the benefit?
Here's how I see it. I'm Ethiopian and I'm a cheerleader which is uncommon. The way my parents and most of the Ethiopians I know work is that one family will try something and if they really like it, they tell all their friends and they usually follow.when most of the parents hear "cheerleading" they think of the stereotypical society view of it, but me and all my sisters cheer and my mom loves it so she's told almost everyone she's met. When they realize that cheer isn't what they think it is, most of them love it and stick with it. So all in all I guess they're just trying to change the non realistic international view of cheer? Idk just a thought.
