does anyone have a cheer class for 2-3 year olds at their gym?

we are starting one, and the requirement is a Backhandspring by age 3 lmao JOKING bahahahahah

what do ya'll do in those classes at your gym :) ours are super fun :)

We don't have one, but I would recommend the following:

jumping (tuck jumps) If you have a tramp/tumble track that is perfect. I'd hold their hands because they won't have great balance.

Obstacle courses (make it easy, with lots of stations)

relay races (learning how to run and jump aren't always easy for little ones)

Lots of stickers/stamps. Kids LOVE stamps. Get lots of different ones (with washable ink).

Before you give them the sticker/stamp, make them sit and wait their turn. Patience and waiting are very important lessons.

Also sing songs. Kids that age love songs and it helps them focus and remember things.

that is alot what our tiny gymnastics class is like, i guess the only real difference is cheer motions? lol and pictures with pom poms hahahaha

That is almost exactly what I see going on with that group and I see them trying to learn front roll technique maybe over the smallest mailbox shaped mat or down the smallest incline cheese mat. The gymnastics program has moved to the back of the gym so we can't really see them anymore from parent room, but they walk back there through the practicing cheer teams like a choo choo train with their arms on top of the next person's shoulders and they are too cute, but they are technically there for preschool beginner rec tumbling.

Our gym does tiny tumblers at age 3. Mini expo for 8 and under.
My CP started there 3 weeks before her 3rd BDAY and did mini expo at age 4/5.

My daughter coaches a tiny team and I have taught gymnastics to ages 1 and up. personally It think 3 is the youngest that can handle it (and not all can) it has to be fun and "skills" changed up every few minutes. Attention span is minimal. They had a uniform of cute cheer shorts and tank top. Just put on some music and let them dance when all else fails! Good luck!

We have one. They focus on following directions and spend a lot of time playing Simon says with motions, jump on the tumble track, work on forward rolls, jump over this long foam thing getting the cartwheel motion (side to side, not with feet over the head) and start learning to move to an 8 count. They are too stinking cute at our year end showcase :cheering:
