Even with Nastia not "floating" like she used to, she had a 15.1 day 1, and it was shaky. That's among the higher beam scores of the competition (if I remember correctly, Aly's was highest at a 15.45?) and ignoring mistakes, Nastia looks better on bars than even Gabby Douglas will ever. There's 3 weeks till Olympic Trials, and if Nastia can prove that she's improved by then, even with a bad showing, I'm sure Marta will put her on the team, keep in mind there's another 4 weeks between Trials and the actual games.
Gabby blew me away on bars day 2. I think her execution score was FAR too low. I have never liked her as a gymnast, and I think she only really contributes on floor and bars, but I am 99.9% positive she'll make the team.
Aly Raisman and Jordyn are shoe-ins. Aly is the most consistent gymnast America has right now, and when Jordyn's on, she's the best all-around gymnast on Earth to me.
Alicia looked AMAZING on beam and vault. She looks exactly like the Alicia that was so darn good in 08.
Kyla Ross.. I just... I can't like her. Honestly I highly doubt she'd be able to handle the pressure of the Olympics. She needs to be put as an alternate and have her moment in 2016. I see her as being a big contender for the all-around in 2016.
carolinagirl823 Nastia has only been doing THAT ROUTINE for about a week, not that she hasn't been working bars at all, or possibly another routine. We don't know if she had another routine planned for this meet and changed it last minute.
Oh and Maroney. I can see America taking 2, at most, two-event specialists (Gabby will only really do FX and UB, Alicia VT and BB, Nastia UB and BB, and I'm assuming Ross would only be used for UB and BB), and I highly doubt Marta is stupid enough to give a spot to Maroney who only contributes enough on VT. Granted, her VT scores will help the team overall a LOT, but that's really the only one she would help on.
