This is an open team, so I don't think the parents would be as involved as they would be for a younger team. Not giving an excuse by any means, but it's not like their parents would just make them leave the gym since a majority of them are probably paying for it themselves.

I am an 20 years old and my mom still talks to me about what clothes I wear. If I came home with this uniform, my mom would not let me go to a competition with it on, even if I am an adult.

Yep. And were only discussing it online. I'd love to know the number of parents that covered their minis/youth kids eyes when those walked by in the GWCC. They probably did need a medic.

I agree I don't like high school teams wearing these type of uniforms. They look better in more traditional looks

I didn't like the cheer athletic cheetahs unis from worlds last year because they looked like ice skating costumes. Cheerleading is a sport, we wear uniforms. The attention should be drawn to the athletes for their abilities, not their ridiculous clothing. I'm sick of seeing costumes on the mat (yes, i'm calling you out cheer savannah), The bottom back straps on these unis are loose on these girls who have 2 different body types (do they fit anyone?), that can't be safe. Top Gun seems to be the leaders in towing the trashy line, but for me this is a bit too far. I don't think these unis are going to help break the "cheerleaders are skanks" stereotype. It's a shame.

I think that's a rather large and unrelated jump to make. I have no problem with two men holding hands, I have a lot of problems with this uniform. The first, while unconventional, is not inappropriate....the same cannot be said for the second.

Saw this on Facebook today and was shocked, imagine if someone outside of our industry saw this? They would probably think we're all okay with it or something.....no disrespect to Kristen and Victor, but this does not make our sport look good. What ever happened to a simple crop top (a REAL crop top, not the mini bra length ones) and a skirt/pair of shorts (not "hey, look at my butt/Spankies", but normal short and skirts)?

Hmmm... while I agree that some of the comments here are totally inappropriate and seriously reaching you must understand the concern; the uniform is risqué.
To put two completely different situations side by side in comparison is a little unfair, I think a lot of liberal people would still side eye that uni.
