The injury was in 2011 (at Visa's Day 2). After that she tried to make the Olympic team but after she didn't she was just done. I'm sad she have up her eligibility because I would've loved to see her in NCAA.

That uneven bar routine where she just lost it was so hard to watch...I may have cried a little.

Especially when you think about how much hard work and sacrifice goes into training.... it was awful.

I felt awful for her when I heard about her knee injury. Is that what led her to retire?

Yeah. She hurt it at Nationals in 2011. Tried to comeback and make the Olympic team, but fell apart at trials. It was actually really sad to watch. And now's coaching and doing some appearances once in a while! I wish she could have done NCAA.

I know - it really must be just awful to train 40+ hours a week at something for your entire childhood (not going to regular school, being away from your parents, etc.), and then have it "not work out".
