My old gym has 7 teams and a special needs team - technically workout groups for now so no divisions yet but typically only a few kids will move around over the summer. So exciting for a third year small gym!

I will forever love Legacy. I run to their 2011 mix all the time at the gym. I was just thinking how much I missed them this past worlds. And prodigy.

The number I heard was that CA Charlotte had over 350 tryout. 16 teams sounds like that number was just about right.

What is this in comparison to last year?

@everyone- WC never has enough boys to make a large team. Even if they were to combine the two, a large team would not do well because coed stunting has never been a strong point. They created the teams based on how well they knew they will do this season

So glad that they had enough open level athletes tryout to form Reign again, but that just means more heartbreak during Worlds 2017 when finalist announcements happen.

Yeah I didn't get it. Why not leave them how they were? Or combine to make Large Coed?

Probably too many athletes too just have one large coed . Thinking that Ody will still be their focus Worlds Coed team and the stronger athletes are more then likely on Ody

CA Charlotte had 11 teams last year: LY1, LJ2, LJ3, LJ4, SS1, LSCOED3, SS4.2, LS4, LSR5, SSCOED5 & IO5. Not sure of the total athlete count.

I must admit, I definitely 100% agree with your post... It is only my assumption, but it seems convincing boys to try competitive cheerleading is a tough sell, particular Black boys (just my opinion, of course) in my area of NJ...

I still remember when my daughter was doing AS cheerleading and she bought 3 boys to "Bring a friend to practice" day... These boys had natural tumbling, all already doing bhs and tucks, 1 boy, who was 10 at the time even had advanced tumbling skills, which he taught himself to do off our fence and outdoor furniture. But when I try to convince the parents to allow them to do AS cheerleading, hard sell... All boys are now doing gymnastics, with that 10 year old, who is now 15, on an elite gymnastics team

I always wonder, why AS cheerleading is not an attractive option to boys?
