I wonder how the gym(s), who these cheerleaders were representing, are dealing with this. I would hope they would remove them from thier team and gym.
I'm not so sure I see that happening though.

i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that if there was a lawsuit then the person who provided the alcohol to the underage kids would be liable. and tumbling while they are drinking?!?
as for them acting crazy and not being welcomed back, in this industry we weigh each piece of business coming to the properties. hockey teams are notrious for tearing up a hotel. if it's great business then we take it but have extra security on staff and extra managers. if something gets broken we have cameras and can narrow it down to which sleeping room the kids went into and charge the parents for the damage. i'm sure if we can do it, disney can as well. they prob have more cameras than a casino.
dont worry i did ;), i guess i just never understood why people think its cool or cute to post pictures and messages when they are completely hammered i mean yeah drink whatever have fun i just dont see why everybody else needs to see it? especially when it follows you around nowadaysSo why don't you stop following/be friends with these folks and you won't have to subject yourself to it? Seems like a simple answer to me.
Oh I don't know that we handle it any better here. The UK had a MASSIVE binge drinking culture and all that happens is 14/15 yr olds get absolutely rotten drunk. My 15/16 year olds leave training on a Friday at 7pm, go home, get changed and go out and get absolutely wasted. I gave a girl a lift home on Fri and she says her mum buys her the alcohol o.O I"m not going to go into it only to say I am 100% dead against it.drinking a little bit at a party? sure that fine but you at least need to be 21 while most people arnt and i can say from experience most of the kids getting trashed are 18-20 once you turn 21 the "coolness" effect drops. if we would act like Europe and handle it like they do we would be a lot better off
well yeah im sure there are drawbacks, but when you legalize certain drinks for minors. say like in Germany sure they might get drunk but dont they have to be with a parent?Oh I don't know that we handle it any better here. Well, you can't kick out the kid with the double double now can ya? :cow:I was just on the phone with a friend discussing this and you can probably check my posts every year right after Worlds and see that I write the exact same thing.
I do not think this is a USASF or Disney problem but a gym culture issue. Gyms that enforce curfews, have a zero tolerance rule for alcohol/drugs and enforce consequences for unacceptable behavior do not have these issues 99% of the time. There are FAR too many gyms that have a set of rules in place but look the other way when there is bad behavior. These things wouldn't happen if kids knew their position on the team was in jeopardy by breaking rules and the coaches actually followed through by removing them.
Gym owners, you want the USASF to loosen control and give the sport back to you? Then the first step is by taking control of your own program. Rant over....
