Ahh poor Kyla. I want her to get it together. I hope she shakes this routine off

Thanks for posting the link - I watched most of it. Simone is amazing, but I just find it sad that we don't have any graceful and elegant gymnasts in our top kids, not even one :/ - I'd say the most graceful thing out of everything I saw was Madison Kocian's bar routine! ;/, and Mikalya Skinner and Aly can't even hit 180 on their floor leaps - and they are our best floor people next to Simone. That Bailey key is great, but she is all power and skills just like the rest of them. I guess I just miss Nastia :(.

I felt bad for Kyla.

Live - 2015 Secret U.S. Classic

if anyone else is interested in watching :)

Ahh thank you, you gave me plans for the night :)

So sad at what happened to Kyla. She finished strong though so I'm happy for her for that. Everything she does is so beautiful but I wish she had a bit more power or a bit less height.

Gabby looks like shes in excellent shape, especially for taking two years off. Holy moly. All her skills were super duper solid.

Simone is just.... not human. Maybe she is from Second Earth? She doesn't even looked challenged. I can't imagine what she will put on the floor by the time the Olympics roll around. Has anyone ever had more than two tricks named after them?

Also, I DO NOT LIKE BAILIE KEYS' FLOOR ROUTINE. It's awful, please get a new one.

Simone's new floor routine is the best thing I've ever seen. It seems (knock on wood) she is peaking at just the right time. I can't wait to see her really perfect those new routines and up their difficulty (if that's humanly possible)

I hated Bailie's leo and then she did a penguin slide across a carpeted mat... that was just so very strange. If you asked me Rio predictions 2 years ago, she was my #1 ringer just dominating everything in junior elite. She's consistent in all of her events but she isn't where she needs to be, IMO.

Shout out to Maggie Nichols killing it with the lead in all-around for the first 2 rotations. No one is going to top Simone, but she is also peaking at the right time.

Gabby is looking awesome and just may make it to back to back olympics. Although, her floor routine looked labored to me, once her endurance is up I see her back to doing big things.

Aly that was a beautiful Patterson off that beam. so pretty.

My heart hurt for Kyla. first they spent so much time talking about Gabby and Aly and their olympic golds they didn't even mention the poor girl like she wasn't on the team or competing at the Classics. and then that bar routine :(

wait holy smokes Sabrina Vega is competing again. Good for her!

I wish the US could send two teams to worlds and the Olympics...

yeah she competed two apparatuses! they weren't great but good for her, I guess!

Seriously! I saw a random tweet last night on the feed that if the US made 2 or 3 teams of all of the all arounds who competed last night, we'd probably take gold, silver, and bronze for the team event. it's insane.

Anyone know why they didn't score Ashton Locklear's bars? I know her coach stepped in and spotted her twice and it was the only event she was competing but it was still odd they just moved on to the next athlete with no comment and never scored her.

Bailie's penguin slide was so awkward. I don't what to knock anyone's attempt at creative choreography when so many routines look very cookie cutter...but no to that slide. She didn't even look like she was entirely convinced about it either.

I also think there's disconnect between McKayla Skinner and her floor music. It just doesn't seem very her...and the hot pink leotard didn't help either. This is probably insignificant but I just felt that her whole floor package wasn't cohesive

After watching it a couple times I'm kinda obsessed with Bailie Key's new floor routine. The slip n slide move is a little weird, but I like it overall! After dealing with some injuries and a growth spurt, I think she's right where she needs to be and will definitely challenge for a Worlds spot.

Biles is everything. Her new floor routine is amazing and her tumbling is INSANE, both in difficulty level and execution. And she still has more difficulty that she can add. Her coaches are pretty smart, IMO, with pacing her and not pushing her to do too much.

@ErinS I completely agree with what you said about Skinner. The music is off and she doesn't seem super into it? I wish she had kept her routine/music from last year or at least gone with something similar. The music now just seems like a Cotton Eye Joe remix. Her DDLO looks a lot more laid out though than it has in the past. I hope she gets it together for Nationals cause I'm a big Skinner fan haha.

I like Bailey's floor and thought it had quite a bit of artistry compared to the others - and at least she can hit full splits on her jumps (pet peeve of mine when it comes to elites - they deduct for level 7's when they can't do that, but then our top kids don't do it? - I know their jumps/leaps are much harder, but still). Aly and Mikayla - they both had multiple leaps/jumps that didn't come close to 180 in their routines.

I like but don't love Bailie's floor routine. I think it's supposed to be a bit of an homage to Elena Grosheva's 96 routine. Similar crazy circus music and penguin slide. I do think it fits her style of gymnastics nicely.

I am flat out obsessed with Simone's new floor. The sassy purr/growl thing is perfect. Can't wait to see her become comfortable with it and truly sell it.

@njallday from what I've read Ashton was just exhibitioning. She's had some injuries and isn't back completely yet, but was expected to show her progress on beam and bars just so Martha has a feel for where she is right now.

I'm super bummed that Brenna had an off night and am hoping she can get it together at P&Gs. Same for Kyla, but I know she will look great. No matter how much she has to water things down, she will hit when it matters.

The depth right now is insane and I have no idea how they'll choose who makes Rio. When the juniors age up next year it will be even more competitive. I've got like 10 girls on my dream Rio squad right now and I hate that half of them won't make it.

didn't see her on beam, makes sense!

ugh, I know. I'm stressed. the top 3 all arounders from juniors are all Rio eligible (and shout out to Lauren and Jazmyn for Gold and Bronze! Proud of those Jersey girls!) add in Norah when she's back from her injury and I am so torn.
