I'll be interested to see how that score stacks up during individual all around Thursday. I'm disappointed she didn't have the chance to make it in.

When I went to college my freshman year I was at Toledo which is Ohio/ That State Up North ( can't say it) border. One of the girls I cheered with came to tryouts with those and said in her state they wore them for cheerleading competitions during the tumbling part. She had the hardest time transitioning to tumbling in tennis shoes.

Oh and ALLEGEDLY, Komova posted something online (in Russian) about how the Americans win because they pump themselves full of steroids. I hope it's not true. But if it is, what a shame, I was really starting to like her. I was really glad she was back.

As a huge fan of hers since the 2010 Youth Olympics, I feel hurt by the way she's behaved. Sometimes, it almost seems as if she's trying to be disliked by people. She's giving me so many reasons to stop rooting for her, but I will continue to do so despite her poor attitude and lack of fighting spirit, because I'd like to imagine that there's still some Komova-2010 left in her. She still has two EFs to go at this Worlds, I really need her to present something positive these next few days to remind people why she deserves to be a part such an incredible sporting event and be among such amazing athletes. She needs to take account of her own mistakes and not lash out on competitors; just show some damn sportsmanship already!!
I swear, the "L turn" is the demise of Russia's score on beam. The only member of the team who can truly execute an L turn is Afanasyeva and she wasn't on beam (she probably should have been but kidney infection).
On a lighter note, I'm not sure if anyone else was watching the live stream via F.I.G.'s YouTube channel but they had the worst commentator in the history of artistic gymnastics. She kept saying "ANaMar" (#UnitedStatesOfAnamar) instead of "AMaNar" and basically butchered so many names on multiple occasions. I swear, it's like she didn't even bother trying after the first rotation... she called every skill that went over the bars a Tkachev, and provided zero insight for viewers. It was between 2:45AM and 4:15AM when the team finals happened and I was so close to screaming into my laptop and waking up the neighbours...
