We have cubbies that everyone puts their phones on, and the gyms so loud you never hear them go off, but we can use our phones during water breaks and video tape with them.

oh my gosh! thats great(: sounds like something my coach would doo!If my girls cell phones ring in the middle of practice I get to answer it. If a text alert goes off I get to read it out loud.
Needless to say, most of my girls silence their before practice. =)
wait you get 5 min. breaks in between practice touse phones?! how long are your practices?when we arrive at practice, we have to put our phone in a bucket. throughout practices we get 5 minute breaks to use it and do whatever we want. it's nice :)
that is absoutley crazy. When I coached dance, I had a girl that would put her phone in her sports bra, and take it out and start texting while I was working on choreography with my back to the group. Once the other girls started ratting her out, then she would still keep it in her sports bra but then she said she was having "stomach problems" and had to use the bathroom a lot. She would go to the bathroom and text her boyfriend. After I found out about that, I started collecting the phones in a basket at the begining of every practice.
On my softball team girls used to do that during batting practice. They'd stand in the outfield with their cell phones in their glove :confused:When I coached dance, I had a girl that would put her phone in her sports bra, and take it out and start texting while I was working on choreography with my back to the group. your spelling burns my eyeballs...:sharkchase:as a coach i always wanna throw their phones out of the window. unfortunaly i cant do that.
when one goes off everyone is disturbed, or they get a text message from someone that said something mean and that phone owner is upset the entire practise.
i allow them to use them during the break, but ive seen some sneaking out more and more to check their phones.
they'll get a speech at the beginning of the year to refresh the rules, and the phones are definitly something on the agenda!
