All-Star Cheer Hair Thread

We went with a bob this year...my cp decided she wanted to donate her hair after a good friend of ours was diagnosed with breast cancer. She started chemo last week and my cp decided it was time. she cut 12 inches. I absolutely LOVE her hair short. I love her hair long too as long as I didn't have to curl it lol...

I had the team I coach do high, straight, side ponies for most of last season. No poof. I don't know how it would look on an older team, but it was really cute on my minis! We got a lot of compliments from other coaches at competitions. Plus the parents loved it because it was SO easy.

I really like it. And I like hair with no poof. Like brandon.

As for hair, your team moms will hate you forever if you make them do curls. My mom is so excited that at my new gym all we do is straight ponytail.

I think the best option is for you to tell them that long hair is straight and in a ponytail, and they can put a french braid on the crown or a poof or whatever. I love what Stingray Allstars has their kids doing. Some girls on Peach have just a straight ponytail, some of them had little braids on their heads, a couple had poofs. It looked nice. For short hair, Straightened and down.

I don't like when people fuss like crazy over hair. It takes away from the athleticism of our sport IMHO.

I'll have my cp style hers and I'll post a pic. It seems to be the thing this season. At least 5 people on her team have bobs now. They are so cute tho. I love them!

I must be the oddball because I love doing my CP's curls. We use curlformers too. I put them in wet at night and use a mousse or gel. We used to do them all down and then pull it up but that was too hard. So then I started doing the pony first, then curlformers, then let her sleep on them.





For those that do straight pony tails, does your coach make girls straighten them? CPs hair is really course and wavy and it would honestly take us longer to straighten it than id does to curl it.

Looks so cute but it would drive me nuts if I had a side pony. It just makes me feel so off centered lol. But I love it on the minis!!

If their hair is just wavy or has looser curls, I prefer for them to straighten it. However, one of the kids I coach has that super curly hair with tons and tons of tiny ringlets. I let it go for her. With the early call times for minis, I cant bring myself to ask parents to spend over an hour on their kids hair. She's also too little to do it herself. I might feel differently about an older girl who could straighten her own hair.

Not sure why this posted upside down. At first it saved sideways. Then I fixed it. Now it's upside down. I don't get it

I don't have a pic handy, but CP has a bob and we do a small poof with just the front of her crown and then pick up then pick up a little more hair to secure her bow just behind the poof.
