All-Star Cheer Moms

Oh I beg to differ hahaha. We just got our tryout results back last night and one of the girls made JV so her mom is making her quit because 'thats not good enough for her' and she'll 'find somewhere where her daughter will be appreciated'

Happened at my school too. The girl was taken off of varsity because she missed too many summer workouts/practices so the mom took all 3 of her kids out of our school and somewhere else because she was sick and tired of the "unfairness"

Even when gyms do their best to prevent/curtail parent drama, it still happens-they just keep it under wraps in the right situations. I've seen my fair share (not really in the gym we currently belong to, but in rec cheer, and in school cheer back in Virginia)....every bit as bad as dance moms. I hope for the cheer industry's sake, they dont get the cheer equivalent of dance moms on a show like that. That's all we need are a few too many Susie moms on National TV :eek:

No way in the world our gym owner would let a single camera in our gym. Too much class for that.

there is cheer drama in rec cheer? Wow! We never did rec, went straight into all-star when my kids were in 1st grade!

There is drama in all youth sport whether it be on the rec level, school level, or allstar level. Some is just talked about more often. When I played softball as a child there was drama about who got put on what team and why so and so was put at 3rd base and not 1st.
Heck my aunt is having drama with YMCA soccer mom's from her 6 year old's team.

Say Baseball...........are there certain spots that are "coveted" just like in other sports. I mean is 1st base a better position than 3rd base? Or Center field better than Right field?

There are..I assume pitcher for softball/baseball, just because a good pitcher can do half the damage right there. Unlike sports such as volleyball, where you REALLY need a cohesive team unit to win. A hitter can smack it down, but a good defensive specialist/setter can change the game COMPLETELY. I've seen state matches WON by a good defensive specialist...plus serving, no matter WHO does it, starts off the flow of the whole point that it can change how the game is played.

When I played softball, the good kids were pitchers, 1st base- short stop. I played third or catcher..lol

I think so, I was never into softball it was more so to make my dad happy, but it seemed everyone either wanted to be the pitcher or first base. We were just kids though not sure how it is when you actually understand the game lol. To us the outfield was where you didn't want to be, but those players are just as important when you are actually playing a real game.

Our gym was contacted last year about a Cheer Show. Our gym owner turned it down because she didnt want to bring that sort of drama to the kids and/or parents. After all this with dance moms, I am surely happy she did.

My brother has played baseball his entire life. The difference is that pretty much every kid pitches. If you are playing at a competitive, travel level you have games almosy every day and a kid will only pitch, either, every 3-4 days, or have a max of like 90 pitches a game. Infield spots are the ones people want the most. No one wants to be in the outfield. Most of the parent drama comes from who gets the most playing time, and who bats where in the batting order.

They need to have a cheer moms all stars because HS doesnt compare to the competitiveness of all star gyms and their parents/athletes.

I'm going to officially go on record as saying I think a show about Allstar Cheer Mom's would be a very bad idea!!! Imagine what idea and image the general public would get from a show like that. An idea and image that no amount of full length tops will erase!!!
