Agree, I cant see why they cant make these things the extras. I feel bad for them an all but hello NCA is next week and have they had their 1st comp yet?

I would say the same. But I am glad they talked about bulling since is it happening a lot these days. I really like this episode. And I can't believe people say things like that. Like kill your self or you shouldn't be here. I've seen a lot people fighting but I have never seen someone tell kill your self to other even if they hate eachother. This is terrible

I agree the bullying message is important. I am glad they addressed it. At the same time we watch this show "cheerleaders" for the cheerleading. I love watching the workouts, routines, conditioning, stunting, and competitions. This is one of the very few places I can go to watch the sport of cheerleading. I would have loved to also see a comp.

Dakota is so strong! Not many people dare to realize they are in a controlling relationship, and she's only in high school. I wish the best for Riley and Dakota, they seem so genuine and sweet. Hope things are better now.

The show is called cheerleaders, and they are cheerleaders... So theses episodes are still about cheerleaders. Lol. Every episode doesn't have to be a practice or competition.

I loved this episode. People think that the people on this team would never be bullied but this shows that it can happen to anyone. I also love that they are so close and feel like the gym is the place they "belong" and feel accepted at. I think it's a good episode for my daughter and her cheer friends to watch so they know they aren't alone and shouldn't be afraid to admit it if it has or is happening to them.

I love this episode. When I was in high school, I was also outcasted by my group of friends. I was never invited out to parties, or did anything fun really. The only place I felt like I truly belonged was at my cheer gym. The girls on my team were by best friends, and I am so grateful that I had a place to go to when I have a tough day at school.

Not to go all mamabear about the show, but I do have to say that I am worried about both the girls :( They are so brave to publicly talk about it; but I can't imagine that this episode airing this week is a good thing. The schools are going to have to deal with public statements like this, and the so-called friends know about the show and I just fear the backlash.

I was worried about this as well. I truly believe the girls are being bullied and this isn't some storyline fabricated to go along with the emergence of bully awareness. They both looked genuinely so sad and beaten down.

It made me wonder if this episode would hurt or help them more. I'm sure the girls at school are aware of this web series , so i wondered if they're (sick) enough to watch and feel proud of themselves? That they're succeeding in breaking them down? Or if they'd be able to watch and see the error of their ways.

I may not have been bullied in school but I did experience a lot of things that I wouldn't wish upon anyone else and the gym was always that safe haven for me where I could blow off steam, relax and enjoy the presence of people who helped me escape reality. That's what's always been so special about cheer it has this ability to guide you, pick you up and help you move forward. I'm happy the girls are able to open up about their own troubles and I really feel for them and hope that cheer can continue to be a place to make them feel at home and happy.

I am so glad that they did an episode on this. I think that it's important for people to be aware that bullying happens to everyone. Even girls like these two who are beautiful and seem to have perfect lives.

Hats off to Riley and Dakota for being brave enough to talk about it. You two are so inspiring.

I'm just curious- I wonder if the show has something to do with it, in particular for Riley's situation.

I only watched the episode because of the bullying aspect and I was interested to see how things went. I mean, these girls' friends must know they're in cheer, and I'm sure they've talked about the show/have had cameras filming them (especially at school). Particularly since this season is much more involved in their personal lives (than from the bits I've watched last season). It's very likely that some resentment is building and the girls are reacting by bullying her. In their eyes- it's just their friend whom they've known for a while who is suddenly somewhat online famous for reasons they don't understand. The lack of understanding coupled with potential jealousy could make people bitter and lash out. Bonus- with getting her own homecoming episode, the girls talking about how much Kirk likes her and whatever (he seems so sweet!)..yeah. I could see something brewing there..

As for Dakota- good for her getting out of an abusive relationship. And that's hard- because it's not like he's going to admit he's been difficult so it's easy for him to be like 'Oh she's awful- it was for no reason!' Giving people an excuse to gang up on her.

I seriously hope that the girls that are bullying Riley aren't on her high school team, that makes high school cheer look so bad.
And props to Dakota, a lot of girls stay in abusive relationships out of desperation, but she loved herself enough not to!

People always complain that the show is behind time, however only the cheer community would actually know this.
This show isn't being made just for the cheer community to watch. Although I am sure that we are a big part of it and its promotion, AwesomenessTV has a lot of followers who are watching this show for the 'reality' aspect whereas we are watching it for the cheer. These kinds of episodes are what draws an audience in - getting to know the 'characters'.
We just have to remember that this wasn't produced purely for us.

Normal people don't know or care that the show is 5 months behind or the NCA is next weekend.


P.S - I really liked this episode. Props to them both for speaking out. I hope the bullying has stopped and this episode airing doesn't affect them further at school.
