All-Star Coach Has Affair With Girl On Senior Team, Would You Let Your Child Cheer Their?

I think it depends on the situation and how old your child is that you are bringing to the gym. Also if the gym knows about the situation because if they dont then thats not their fault. I just would watch the relationship with the coach and my child if I was to bring her to the gym. I dont see a huge issue with it but thats just me . there is a lot to consider

I think my mom still would. I'm sure she would stress to me that if a coach ever said something in that way to me, to go to the gym owner and tell them. But, since I'm 19, I know my mom would trust me more in the situation than if I was younger and handle it differently than a parent of a younger athlete.

If the young women was on a senior team she is in high school. No teacher that had an affair with a student would ever work in a school again. I don't see the difference if it is a coach in a gym. The gym was in error hiring him. I would not want a coach with no regard for right and wrong coaching my child.

If the young woman was on a senior team means she was between 12 and 18..
Not enough information for me to tell you for sure if I would or wouldn't let my child attend.
Most of the time that information would be personal and you wouldn't have known. You would be surprised at what some of your coaches may be doing in their personal life you don't agree with.
If they are professional with you and your kid, if they are qualified, if their lifestyle doesn't impact your child and nothing illegal, then it's fine.

I would allow my child there. One coaches actions shouldnt affect the gym.. Lets say the coach at Cheer athletics did it do you really think parents would stop sending their kids. NO..

For me it would not matter if it was the Tranny Train Wreck Allstars or a big name program.

Checked into it and it does vary state by state and the charges can also be effected state by state on the age of the offender as well. I think it is wrong regardless of the age of consent. Coaches should be coaches and not hooking up with their CPs and if they are married well EVEN WORSE- especially with a new child to boot. Personally if I found out that our gym hired someone knowingly who did that then we'd be gone immediately.

I am a pretty tolerant person when it comes to people having their own view points, but on this type of situation I cannot see how it would be ok in any spectrum.

This is a tough one.
I would hope that the new gym knows what the situation was at the old gym. I'm guessing they do, in which case they would have every responsibility to their athletes to have the coach on a very short leash.
Unless I knew specifics of the situation firsthand, I wouldn't reasonably be able to pass judgment one way or the other.

When did morality become optional or debatable? A coach is in a position of power and having an affair with an athlete is an abuse of that power, not any different than if it happened in a school. To think any different is appalling! I'm not sure why I am surprised that people here think it is no big deal!

If this gym knew about it when they hired this person, they should be outed IF FACTS SUPPORT.
