This is an ACT question... But when you're signing up online for your ACT, you can chose to automatically send your score to 4 colleges of your choice for free... How does that work and do you reccommend it? It's only my 1st time taking it in February and I'm only a junior so I'm not sure if I should send them or not or if its only for seniors or what..

You can choose to send it to whichever 4 colleges you want (Top 4 you're applying to is what I would recommend) and you don't have to pay to send them like you would for more than 4. I would recommend it because it helps with the admissions process and makes it go faster.

In other news, I got accepted to FSU and UNF (University of North Florida for those of you who don't know :P). I've been accepted to the summer term at FSU and Fall at UNF. I'm accepted to 4 colleges now. I still have to fill out the FAFSA though...

My problem is that I really don't think I will make a good score my first time around because ill just be starting Algebra 2 in January so the math section is going to kill my score. I'm not good at math either so that doesn't help. I don't want to send my scores if I get a really low score. Once you send scores do they send you letters and more information about the schools? And will it effect when you apply next year if you get a better score than what they originally sent the first time?

I am horrible at math. I got a 27 the first time and a 26 my second. Once you send scores they don't send you letters. You can take it many times and send them again and they always take your highest composite score.

So far I've gotten into all the schools I've applied to (4 out of 6) and I'm waiting to hear about the last two, University of Dayton and Xavier University. Those are the two bottom of my list haha so it doesn't matter to me. Although I'd like to be able to say I got in to all the schools I applied to! I posted this in the new random thread yesterday but I got in to my first choice early decision Miami University of Ohio. And yesterday I found out I got in to Case Western Reserve University. It's a really good school and a lot of my family went there - I have no interest in going there because its all boring smart people and no sports or anything haha I just wanted to see if I could get in.

Got into my first choice!!! Vanderbilt University class of 2017! :) The feeling of opening the acceptance letter was so incredible. Congrats to everyone who has gotten good news recently and good luck to everyone who hasn't yet!!

Here is my opinion... I took the ACT's three times. Moved up one point every time haha but missed my goal by one point of course. (Fourth time may have been the charm there)

ANYWAYS. I am so incredibly thankful for my guidance counselor because she is absolutely amazing, so I'll pass her nice advice on :)

I asked her this same question. For the ACTs which is different than the SATs, you pick your one best test score to send to schools. If you send off a score, then do better another time, you need to pay again, which can be a pain, especially when you're applying to a ton of schools and $11 really adds up! I waited until I was done taking the tests to send them out. Although I missed out on the 4 free ones, I guess that is only worth it if you are only "serious" about 4 schools? I know this doesn't make more sense, but if you score really low your first time and you pay to send them out, you kind of just wasted some money. I think it makes most sense to send them out all at once with your best. But I guess that may have been slightly a personal opinion.

Now for anybody curious about the SAT, it's awesome because you can super score (pick your best section from each test you took then add up that score as your final) So in this case, when you send your scores to schools it sends every test score.

Haha fun fact: didn't apply to one school north of me. (Unless the city is considered north, which it may be very slightly. I applied to one there.)

I sent mine my jr year of HS and the college discarded them by the time I applied my senior year. BUT they accepted a copy of my score letter I had at home so I'd ask what your college accepts before wasting your free sends.

I'm a junior and I am from the Philadelphia suburbs.. I'm not looking to go to far away because of family, boyfriend, etc.

So, my first choice is Villanova.
Second is West Chester.
Third is Cabrini.

Hoping for Nova though!

Accepted to 4 colleges so far! U of Oregon (DREAM SCHOOL), Lenoir-Rhyne University, Florida State University and University of North Florida. I'm going to FSU tomorrow to film my brother for lacrosse so it'll be my second time there. My mom really wants me to go there.

so just when I thought I was out of the "college application boat" I'm setting sail again lol 2 words, grad school....I swear, the process the second time around is much more overwhelming than the first. I am even more clueless of what I want to do with my life now lol I'm looking into physician's assistant programs, and I'm now understanding why some of my fellow peers call kids who want to do that "life time students". The pre-reqs alone amount to an undergrad degree lol
not to discourage any of you from going that route :) summer classes are just going to be my best friend.
