It sucks so much. We're close enough to drive. But not everyone is so lucky. And also I've bought flights because we wanted to maximize our time down there. If this goes through it would make logical sense for Varsity to make all end of season events virtual to maximize participating gyms/teams. I have no words for how I'm feeling. Why specifically Florida?
Ugh, I read the article after I asked why. :(
YES. I think coaches have really started to come around to the idea of this, and I could totally see the benefit of getting additional scoresheets for feedback and saving a bit on your budget. Especially a few at the beginning of the season... Let me know what sucks before I actually hit a live event.
Rubio.senate.gov also reported it.I really, really, really do not see it actually happening.
I know there are other sites that have said it, but the site linked above is not very reputable.

As Cheersport goes on this weekend....Yeah our team got a bid back in December. And our gym has required us to book flights and I have already paid a 700 deposit- for just my daughter. So paid 1200 already.
And we are supposed to book our family hotel this week- just waiting on the link to charge another 3k.
It is going to be so annoying if this cancels.
That doesn't change my thoughts. There are more reliable sources now saying that the current administration never had any plans for this. I will gladly eat my words if I'm wrong, but this is not something to worry about. The wording of the article is enough for me to not believe one ounce of it.Rubio.senate.gov also reported it.
We sometime leave the TV running, but I will try the podcast idea!I got my cat at the end of March last year; I got him from a cat cafe, so he was used to having someone (either furry or non-furry, lol!) around all the time. Most businesses in my province opened mid-May, and he had a hard time adjusting to me being gone for work. He no longer tries to run out the door when I leave, and is finally not loudly meowing at me every day when I come home.
Do you think playing a podcast for your pup would help at all/make her feel like someone is there with her when y'all can't be?
Yes! I would be so in to this! It would be really fun for our kids in the UK to compete against teams from America and other countries without the pressure of expensive trips. Can definitely picture it in my head as more of a "fun" style virtual competition - less pressure than summit/worlds but still getting the opportunity to see where you stack up against teams from other countries.Would give teams from Canada and other countries an easy way to compete against American teams, etc.
Cheersport will apparently make deductions today for a team whose spectators don’t wear masks correctly.
Apart from the giant holding hall (which I avoided) I think the comp has felt pretty safe.
