All-Star Crossover Limit ???

I can understand that but that may hurt smaller gyms. My cp should be a mini2 and a lot of small gyms can't support that so she gets the best of both worlds by doing mini 1 and youth 2.

We are moving so next year we are going to a larger gym and I told my cp unless she gets her tuck and she can fly or base level 3 she we will probably be put on a mini2 and not a youth2 like this year. I also told her if she has her level 3 skills they may put her on a mini 3 but since that's not as prevalent as mini 2 they may not have it and may have the availability to put her on a youth 3 if that's what she wants and they feel she is ready for. I mean I know this is all speculation but I couldn't choose if I was only to let my cp do 1 team this season! I mean I would let her do just mini 2 but we don't have that!!

I don't want to pull her off youth2 because she is getting great training and experience flying on that team and she loves it! On mini's she is with her friends and she is learning a lot on that team!

So in my situation what would you do if this was your cp?
Honestly, you should probably consider what your CP will be like on a competition day. Two routines is A LOT for a mini aged girl in one day. If she goes and competes with her mini team, she could be completely drained and cranky for the rest of the day and then have to go compete another routine in that mindset? That's not really fair to her youth team. That might not be how your CP is but definitely think about how she'll be on a competition day and how it will impact both her teams. It's all about your child's attitude.

Well they only compete at 1 of the same competitions. The tiny and mini's stay local so that's not so much of a big deal. When we went to this competition last year the mini and youth team competed both really early in the day and my cp is usually not one to complain or be cranky for the most part.
My cp is 6- there are other mini kids that wanted to crossover to youth that have a BHS that are 8. They aren't on the team so I'm sure the owner thinks my cp can handle it or probably would of canned her being on that team along time ago!

That is something to think about that I never did so thanks!! In this situation it's probably good they go to different competitions!!

She also practices on both teams on Thursday so it makes Thursday's really long as the practices are one after another and she also seems to be doing ok with that!!

I personally do not like the hassle of crossovers. The scheduling of practices, making sure there's enough time in between warm ups and coming offstage, etc etc. There's so much more extra work that more than a couple of kids crossing for emergancy fill in purposes makes me stressed.
However, this year I lost a handful of kids after tryouts from some key teams. Being a small gym, I needed to replace those positions and I was lucky to be able to pull a kid here and there to re-complete those teams. They all cross up so I'm comfortable with that bc they aren't considered ringers. I despise yth on a sr team so I limited that as much as I could but was still forced to do it this year. I hope to return to VERY limited crossovers again next year.

I do think it depends on the kid. Both my CPs crossed over to Mini-Youth teams at age 6-7 and both did always did absolutely fine. We never had any issues with either of them with being too tired for the later performances.
