Has anybody here ever tried mole? It has like 40 different ingredients and I can't imagine how all of them taste together.
I've tried it a few times but only liked it once.
I guess there is a bunch of different kinds of mole too.

We love it too. Dh used to do a lot of business there and has a long list of his favorite restaurants in Lima. And now I want some ceviche and a pisco sour!

It's weird that I've usually seen it with a Z. I think it is a California thing. Or actually, the little hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop restaurant that I always went to when I was little spelled it with a Z. So, maybe I'm just generalizing. Either way, posole or pozole is so frikken good.
yes I'm sure it's more regional how you spell it. I had to look it up when several posters (all from Cali) spelled it with a z. It's spelled both ways. But yes poszole is awesome.

I have but I don't like it.

We used to go to Dublin, TX- home of the original pure cane sugar Dr Pepper (until corporation shut them down )
When you would visit their soda shop, they would make you a Dr. pepper completely from scratch. I have never had a soda taste that good.
That sounds amazing!

No where else. Trust me. Everyone out here comes to your neighborhood for that, although we do have two Greek places here that are quite good when you don't want to take the drive. We have found decent Indian, Peruvian and Thai out here but it was trial and error, and the Indian food costs us double from that we pay for our little place we have been going to for years on 1st Ave between 5th and 6th St. There are Italian and Japanese places galore though, and of course, diners (and our favorite diner is Greek owned).
Astoria has been hopping with people opening really awesome joints. There's a place I read that does Vietnamese street food but more 'upscale', a new Peruvian place, and even more opening all the time. I think one of Lady Gaga's friend just opened a place (The Pomeroy?)

Although I'm a terrible Astoria, because I've never been to Taverna Kyclades. Shame, shame, shame..

Do you by chance know the name of the Peruvian place?
