How is this competition able to give 2 paid bids? Isn't there a requirement to have a certain number of teams attend in order to give bids?

It used to be a big well attended competition when it was held in December in the SF Bay Area. They moved it and changed the date and well... I'm not sure the low #s this year change the number of bids because of other years. I would imagine if low attendance continues... But next year they are in LA in December So I would guess attendance will be back up.

I was thinking the same..... if there are only 11 eligible teams competing and 6 bids (2 full paid and 4 at large) to be given out, that means there'll be more teams leaving with a bid than without.

We see that sometimes with Reach the Beach in OC. It is 2 weeks before Worlds.

Anyone have any videos of the Coed R5 teams or maybe will have some? I would like to see what the west coast has going on before CP and I head to NCA next month. Never been before.

One of our dad's was videoing each of the teams yesterday. If I can find the link for Snipers, I'll post it. Or maybe somebody else has one.

Agreed, but RTB is a fairly large competition for levels 1-5. There may not be many Worlds teams but I am pretty sure the number of bids an EP can give is based on the total number of teams at the prior year competition, not just Worlds teams. It may be this competition was much bigger last year. It will be interesting to see how many bids are available next year.

If the # of bids go away, they'll have to rethink their 'Super Six'.

Bids are assigned at 1 paid for every 100 teams and its rounded up. So at 101 teams an EP awards two paid bids. And at large bids are 2 for every paid bid (down from 3).

**EPs should only be able to designate ONE competition as a "national".**

Did everyone else have a really rough day, or were the other non-Cali performances really that underwhelming? I think there's only been videos of Sexy Six (still not a fan of that name), Black Ops, and Smoed, but for Black Ops to be 20-30 points ahead of the other teams seems like a huge disparity.

I refuse to call it that. It will forever be Cali i6 to me. It reminds me of junior high/high school when little cliques of girls would give themselves a name.

ETA: a team nickname is fine(BABS, ladies of teal, etc) but Sexy Six seems to be the name they've gone with.

Well SMOED alone has 3 falls, a pretty noticeable bobble and they're quite a bit behind Black Ops. Without watching all the videos, I'm assuming most had falls or some sort.

If you watch the GSSA video of them this weekend, it actually calls them Sexy Six on the screen.
