Hey! So I have cheer tryouts in around 20 Days and I have been trying to get my standing tuck but I seem to be having some issues. I do have it standing on the trampoline. I have been working on in on my air track folded so I have about a 2in high to go off of and I am close but I keep landing on my knees. Really want to be able to get it on the grass. I have been trying I thrust my arms up to my ears and pull my knees in but I can't seem to land it. I really want to make the team and am willing to work really hard to get this skill. Do you guys think this is possible? ANY tips at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sounds like you either need to jump higher or flip faster. I would work leg strength and core strength.

One of the best strength drills is candle ups to a tuck position. I recommend doing them both slow and fast. Like the drill below...

Except do them to a back tuck shape like below...

Another great leg workout for tucks is running stairs. Not sure if you have places where you live, but my city has lots of popular outdoor stair sets that people use for exercise all year long.

ETA - not to be a downer, but 20 days is tight if you're not already landing it sometimes. Even if you don't have it, be ready to go in and show where you are - either off a bit of height, with a slight spot, etc. Coaches will see that you're close and working towards it, and that is better than nothing at all
