All-Star How Would This Score For Sync Tumbling?

through out that whole video all i could see was "wow" ....this is why cheer should not be limited to just twisting...or two spins. there is so much more out there in the tumbling world! its frustrating.
As much as I'd love to see the cheer world step out of it's comfort zone, there just aren't enough coaches that could teach them correctly. Could you imagine Suzies mom's all-stars trying to teach some of those skills? Heck there are SOOOOO many that shouldn't even be teaching bhs. Double flipping skills used to be legal, then a faceplant by a UH cheerleader ended that. Cheersport I think was the last to allow double flipping skills. Just too dangerous.

when i decide to have kids im moving to where ever these people are from.. my child will be one of them

I want to shimmy this to infinity and beyond!

There aren't enough coaches out there who can properly teach fulls, let alone to try this. They were tumbling OVER each other, and doing Thomases.....recipe for disaster. I always hated when the elite guys in our gym would learn a Thomas...so scary to watch the learning process. I think anyone who wants to learn that has more than a few screws loose!

I have enjoyed watching the Men's rhythmic gymnastics for years. It's fun to watch these videos and then see a lot of their choreography in Top Gun large coed routines.

they are gorgeous dancers, so in sync.
but i love their tumbling, most dances make the tumbling look so awkward from the dance but they are so flowy and connect it all so well that i absolutely love it

Just to clarify, these aren't "dancers", they are rhythmic gymnasts, so they are trained equally in all aspects. Mens rhythmic gymnastics isn't big here in the U.S. but is in other countries.

so how is it possible that gymnastics clubs can get certified coaches for such skills but a cheer gym cannot? I understand its dangerous, but that's sports. Every time a football player puts his helmet on he's at risk of getting a life changing injury. And I think if Suzie's moms all-stars would never get the certification to teach those skills. You would just have to make getting level 5 USASF certification ALOT harder where coaches have to show they can safely spot all of the skills at that level. My point is this sport is getting to a point where its almost hard to push the envelop at any level, the same skills are becoming repetitive. And most of the tumblers we idolize can already throw double flipping skills safely anyway so why not let them throw them. And truthfully i was a gymnast before i was a cheerleader and i landed a double back before i landed double fulls. I can see the point in drawing the line at Thomas, girls gymnastics drew the line there so that makes sense. But I still don't see how its safe for gymnast to double flip and not cheerleaders.

There aren't enough to go around. Elite gymnasts tend to funnel to certain programs that have the coaches that can get them into the Olympics. Elite athletes in cheer are more spread out.

Making certification will come. Please keep in mind the industry has gone from nothing to something regarding certification in the past few years. It will take a little time to go from something to something better.

I've heard several classes say this and we keep finding a way to evolve.

The safety rules are for the average and below average more than the elite you idolize.

ok i see all of your points and i appreciate the clarification. Its my opinion that cheer should work toward a system where it lets the elite tumblers flourish rather than suppress them. There has got to be a way, gymnastics has found it, hopefully cheer will too.
