I know everyone is in an uproar about the male comment and I'm in no way saying I agree, however I do recall watching So you think you can dance a couple years ago and them telling the boys that when they danced they needed to dance like boys. I don't recall the exact words used but it was along those lines. Shouldn't that have caused people to be upset as well?

Yeah people are talking about sueing and lawsuits, but the USASF are not the first group that has said something along those lines. I don't agree with what was said, but I am not shocked by it either since like you said it has been said on a show that many cheerleaders watch.
 
I think there's a difference - those are judges stating their opinion.

This is a large regulatory body saying that theatrical and exaggerated male dancing is hurting the sport.

But that is their opinion as well. Again I do not agree with it, but what they said is not something new that others haven't said in the past. There are some big name gym owners who said it at the Doral meeting (which had a live feed) and people didn't object and freak out about it then.
