That's your birthday? I just thought you were freaky.I think the biggest problem I have is the 1969. Like why the heck did I put my birth year? Lol
This is where I'm gonna need y'all to just fall over laughing and virtually high five me. The last 4-5 responses in my head (that top ten list I can never use) have been SPOT. ON.
I'll be here all week.
Sadly, I'll only be here in my head. Which may, in fact, make me mentally unstable. But, do carry on! I'm looking forward to my next silent zinger!

Sorry @ErinS, you will always be HAT to me.
I have to agree about the shady taxi drivers. I have only used taxis the past two years. And then it was only because I had no choice due to the hotel I was placed in. All of the hotels are supposed to have nearby train stations. They don't. Thus I was forced to pay $40 dollars for a one way taxi ride to the Convention Center and then another $40 to return to the hotel.Scoring aside...because I concur that some seemed "odd"...but I'm a parent so what do I know? ;)
Anyway...I think NCA needs to boycott Dallas and the convention center.
- The "stay to play" hotels were, for the most part, way too far away while many hotels closer in could get you "disqualified".
- The venue must have some sort of housekeeping service in the contract. I doubt NCA (cough Varsity) asked for a cheaper price if they passed on basic services...but the place looked like no basic cleaning services were provided. It was honestly worse than a frat house the morning after a party!!! Totally disgusting! Yet the door keepers were paid well to ensure that coffee was Starbucks and not one in a cup from a different establishment.
- and final rant...the taxi crooks...um I mean drivers. Not turning meters on! Quoting random pricing because "10 is later than 9". Insisting you tip higher. Hey Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau...Get a handle on it! This is not the annual "fleece the cheerleaders" event...or is it? It has gotten worse year after year.
By the way she is unable to tumble. That is correct. There were athletes unable to travel to NCA so she filled in. And she is recovering from knee surgery. She is not on SMOED.
Thanks for sharing, made me tear up.
I couldn't agree more. From what I've seen SMOED doesn't have an issue with their team's placement. They are disappointed in their performance which is to be expected. But, what has made them so unhappy is how people have treated two of the youngest (if not the youngest) individuals on their team. There is NO reason under any circumstances for people to berate, make fun of, create and disseminate vines etc. I feel comfortable saying these athletes have never said or done a single thing to any of the individuals that are circulating the hateful material on social media. Why they do it? I don't know. Jealousy perhaps. I can't really say why. Maybe, because they can. But, they shouldn't. The athletes teammates can't even take to social media to attempt to thwart the bullying because then they are accused of being mean when their intention is to defend. This is where I think we get a stilted perspective when we spend all of our time immersed in elite level five. You watch the Brandon Senior Bots (I mean that in a good way, those kids are daggum machines!) and you start to just expect everyone should be like that, or TGLC etc etc. so when a team who may be doing phenomenally well for where they started or how long they've even existed performs and they don't look like WE Generals or Wildcats they get the  Look and the nasty comments to follow (generally from rabid fans who couldn't make their dream team if they tried...yeah, I said it).
When In fact we're expecting the extraordinary to be the ordinary and it doesn't work like that. So, all the kids out there just working and improving get hammered for not already being at the pinnacle of the sport and that's not fair to anyone...not to the kids on those teams and really not even to the ones at the top who then get pummeled if they dare "be kids" and have an off performance. Case in point....what social media has done to Smoed. Everyone is entitled to an off year but if you're the three time world champion you're going to be flayed alive for it.
I never noticed the spelling error in your username until you pointed it out...... now it cannot be unseen.Since there's been name changes @King can you please take out the extra G in my name. iwearmysunglassesatnight. Thanks
