All-Star Need Help Registering My Team For Competition

We practiced with the level two tumbling knowing that they have all level one tumbling and level one stunts
Do you have experienced coaches helping you? Like 12 step said, this is a bad idea because girls are going to throw illegal tumbling. What gym are you with?

Then that is your answer. If it's choreographed to level one, that's the division you put them in. I'd also suggest stopping all back handsprings when you're practicing the routine or they'll develop muscle memory and someone will throw one during competition without thinking about it.
Preach. Our first competition ever we watched our junior 3 team (which had been practicing on and off with level 4 tumbling trying to decide) opened with 4 girls throwing standing back tucks. Deduction x 4 maybe 5 seconds in. No recovery from that.

Yep! Throwing handsprings by mistake happened twice to us last season. Luckily it was only "caught" once. I do worry about it this season too, since half the team either has it or is very very close.

Do you have access to the event's scoring grid? Is it a USASF sanctioned all star comp or is it local? If it is local, you really need to study it, especially if it is a comp that also caters to rec. The lines between level 1 and 2 can be quite blured with private comps.

Haha one of the girls on youth1 did that at NCA 2012, day 2.
Everyone was upset they thought the just lost NCA! Thank goodness they still won much to their surprise! Lol

Top Dog Power Pack is an off-season cheer program at Top Dog. Are you a parent volunteer coaching or a first year coach? I suggest asking the director at Top Dog to assist in determining the best skill level for your team. Can't wait to see your team, we usually compete at a few of the same competitions.

I think the OP person is an athlete not coach. In this post she says she is on the Tapron Springs Spongers and Top Dog Power Pack. Hello! | Fierce Board - The Voice Of Cheer

I am familiar with the Spongers as they competed at both the Mid-Florida Throwdown and the Gulf Coast Cheer Classic in October (I was at both competitions working the event).

Those athletes on that Facebook page look plenty old enough to coach a mini team. (isn't that what she said "flyweight" means?) So is it possible she's both - an athlete and a coach? I would assume they also have an adult coach, but she could still be coaching.

Not that she would be registering the teams though...

Yes, possible. Flyweights is a rec term as well as rec teams have coordinators. She says Top Dog Power Pack, but the informational meeting for the TDPP is December 1st. It would be odd to have practices and be registering for a competition when the parent informational meeting is a month away and those off-season teams have not yet been formed. The Spongers have already been competing at rec competitions so there is no question on what level they are. The same for our off-season program the informational meeting is the first week of December. I guess I am finding the post odd in general.

Top Dog is a well established gym with a great reputation. If the OP is part of that gym, I think they have the staff that can assist with making the level determination. My daughter went up against their TD JC3 team a couple times last year, they were awesome. :)
