Tell me how this works. Because I've heard of one, but it isn't released publicly yet so I won't say anything. And the acquired gym seems to think that nothing will really change, that they will get the benefit of the big name and they will still run the show. But from a business perspective, I would think that lots of things would have to change in order for the acquired gym to then fit the brand.

Wow, that would leave them with only one location. Another big player in California that is seemingly disappearing.

Oh my heck and they had what like 6-8 locations in Cali at one point. So crazy.

I don't know the answers, but based on most gyms being renamed to a big brand, nothing changes except the name and the brand doesn't seem to care. There are some really badly run gyms with a big brand name - my daughter worked for one and it was a nightmare.

I don't know all of the details of all of the various business models, but it would seem there is quite a range of how much "influence" different multi-gym brands have over the day-to-day operations of each their locations. Each setup has its pros and cons.

Interesting. As a customer I would find this confusing. Part of brand recognition to me, is knowing what to expect from that particular brand. If I go to Chik Fil A, I don't expect to buy a burger.

The quality is usually most consistent when the Mega actually sends staff from the flagship, I'd think? Or at least makes the staffing decisions.

Same staff from Old Gym + New Name = Same Gym but with CEA/CA/etc. on the front.

You are correct, they are coming to run PCM Irvine. Murrieta and Irvine will still work together throughout the season :)

Announced,they are taking over BGC Allstars in Maryland.

Also, new Rock Star location in Idaho (old Idaho Inferno).

Maryland twisters announced a new location in Salisbury Maryland today. Not sure if that’s the same as the one they announced yesterday.

Three different locations in the last 2 days. Harford County, Salisbury, and Gaithersburg.

There are 4 new locations actually: they are taking over 3 gyms but one has two locations. Maryland Force in Gaithersburg, Nort'Eastern Storm in Salisbury, and BGC in Fallston and Whiteford - all Maryland locations. They also have their main location in Hanover and their Virginia location in Sterling - so 6 in all for MD Twisters.

The language these gyms are using is interesting. They are not saying that they are being taken over by Twisters, rather that they will continue to be independently owned and operated. They will use Twisters resources (choreo and guest coaching), branding and industry knowledge. So, the same gym with a different name. It's confusing to me.

There is also some chatter online about additional locations being announced soon.

Maryland is a small market. These gyms will be competing against each other.
