You can just tell the teacher before hand. If you can find out what you're going to miss before hand you won't need to be there anyway

This happened to be all the time last year. I emailed the professor and asked if there was an earlier lecture I could attend because I had an appointment scheduled during her class. If they say they don't have another or they do but you cannot attend then I would just sit in the very back and quietly sneak out when you need to.

i believe 17-18.. too young to get engaged, old enough to know how to spell fiancé, break, what, your, etc....

On Friday, two guys in my class jumped out of the window to leave early because the teacher was blocking the door. The teacher never noticed although they made a lot of noise.
