With all these new competitions popping up this year, I'm finding it hard to keep track of them and I can't remember 2/3 of the names.
All I can remember is there's the Revolution, which is currently doesn't have a venue but isn't cancelled if I read the thread right.
Then theres the one that also involves tricking and individual tumbling and group stunt stuff, that I can't remember the name of.
And then theres the one sponsored by nfinity, and I can remember what the website looks like (it's white and yellow!), but for the life of me I can't remember the names. And I think it's rather close to Worlds.
For competitions that are trying to be unique and stand out, they're kinda all melding together in my mind. At first they're trying to gain notoriety and making a big splash about all the amazing teams coming and how it will "transcend the traditional competition experience," but then they grow really quiet and I can't even remember their names. I had completely forgotten about them until the thread popped up about the Revolution.

I love how everytime I go to popular page on Instagram there is a cheerleader on it.

Ugh. I had to turn it off. Carrie can stick to country and no one should ever try to reenact this movie again. I'm disappointed.

late to this conversation... but ugh it was bad! i will admit i was overly critical, as i grew up watching the sound of music over and over again (well the first tape; it was such a long movie that it was on two tapes, but i would always skip all the war stuff.) i know the julie andrews version was not the first ever production of the sound of music either, but i don't care. it's perfect and a classic at this point.

Carrie has a lovely voice but she is meant for country and not meant to be an actress. I just felt like there were serious parts and she was smirking/almost laughing. and while it's not her fault, she looked too young. like the kids looked older than her. and her costumes just weren't right. Audra did a great job (though I had to turn the volume down when she sang - i think that was a sound thing with NBC because my volume was pretty low and all of the sudden my speakers sounded like they were going to blow out.. it did it at one other point, too.)

i think it was a great idea (in theory) - live theater is expensive and i get that they were trying to show it to the masses. but i'm still disappointed.

I haven't seen it yet, but I could guarantee that the only good things about it would be Lauren benanti (who NBC is trying to apologize to for cancelling both her tv shows) and Audra McDonald, who is a goddess of musical theatre.

I was worried about Carrie's acting. She had a small part on Soul Surfer which I think she did well but that was a small part, not the main character. I haven't seen it yet but from what I saw of previews I HATED Carrie's hair in that braided up-do.

ETA: I still watch it on two VHS tapes lol I should probably upgrade to the DVD

Okay so I know this is probably a super long shot, but has any one on here or does any one on here know someone who has had ankle fusion surgery? My orthopedist is strongly recommending that I have my subtalar joint fused (it is already about 90% fused with arthritis and I have almost no motion in it) to relieve the pain I'm having. I'm very hesitant though because I don't really know what to expect after and this makes me nervous about what will happen/what it will be like on a daily basis. So I'm trying to find someone to connect with who can maybe help me by letting me know their personal experiences.

Sorry I didn't see this today. Yes, yes and yes, I am familiar with ankle fusion surgery. There is also a group on Facebook dedicated solely to those of us with fusions where you can get a lot of your questions answered and find someone with similar circumstances to your own. I have a triple arthrodesis due to trauma, bad car accident, so no movement in right ankle. So I think you are having an ST fusion and tons of people on the ankle fusion group on Facebook have had similar and seem happy with the results and a lot wish they would have had it done sooner. I would check them out.

I really think Laura benanti should have been Maria. She is both a wonderful actress and a great singer. But in the end I'm just happy it happened because people always need a little more appreciation of theatre

The funniest thing in the world is seeing people from downstate NY drive through the snow in upstate NY. Oh my goodness. Cars go everywhere. You'd think they'd never seen snow before. It's basically the apocalypse in their eyes. Some of them don't even know what snow tires are.... Like what? I don't understand how we all live in the same state.

Haha people in Maine live for the snow. I'm in central Maine so it's kind of the backwoods, no cities and I swear people are nuts. I have lie driving anxiety so when people are passing me in a blizzard I just thank god I'm not in their car haha.
