I know there has been a lot of chatter here on the Fierceboards regarding Worlds athletes and release forms. My understanding was that the release form was used in the event a Worlds athlete wanted to leave their existing gym and go perform on another Worlds team at another gym. In which case USASF required the athlete to obtain a signed release from their original gym. But, I recently discovered there exists a USASF rule that requires any athlete, regardless of level to obtain a signed release form to change gyms and join a Worlds team. Granted this isn't likely to occur much, if ever. But, why would such a thing be necessary ? It's not as if you're gym hopping from one Worlds team to another.

It's the same rule. If you leave a gym, regardless of level, and join another to compete on a Worlds team, you need a release before you can take the floor at Worlds.

Ugh, RIP my kindle :( I went through Amazon tech support and they tried a few things then pronounced it dead. Most frustrating part- the prices of new ones. In the UK a Kindle Paperwhite costs £109 (~$185), I checked the US website out of curiosity- $99.
I'm done. Moving to the states ASAP haha.

This "South" term confuses me. Apparently the western U.S. has no South, we're just western. But the central portion of the U.S. and the East Coast have a "South". But where "South" is seems to vary depending on where you are located. When I lived in Oklahoma the south meant Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi etc. But never Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas etc. that was the Midwest. My husband who was born and raised in Kentucky, felt Kentucky was the south. As well considering Oklahoma and Texas to be in the south. I could go on but you get the idea. There seems no clear definition of the south. Over time the term "South" seems to have morphed from it's originally intended reference. Btw I live on the West Coast now and we don't consider Florida to be the South.

Do people there not consider Texas/Arizona the "southwest"? That's what I would call it. Though SoCal gets ignored.... In missouri we definitely consider Arkansas the south. I'd say that's why Arkansas has become a popular school for girls from here who want to be "southern belles"
At my school everyone's trying so hard to be southern and it's like... We are smack dab in the middle of the country. Hush. You're not "southern, classy, and oh so sassy" (order might be wrong). You live in MISSOURI

Any journalism majors on the board? I'm doing my writing assignment and I'm not sure how to write out $175,00 according to Associated Press guidelines. Do I leave it as $175,00 or is it all spelled out (one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars) (Which I dont think it is?) or is it 175 thousand dollars?

I have the AP style book & I googled it but I can't seem to find an answer. I know millions and billions you do it the last way but no idea about thousands

I understand using the release if you're gym hopping from one Worlds team to another. But why demand it for someone currently on a lower level team that's moving to a gym to be on a Worlds team?

If I'm wearing a lime green dress to prom, what color should my lipstick be?

I think the rule would apply, if you're wearing something with a strong color (the dress), you would want to go a little more muted with the makeup. So I would say a more natural color, maybe with a bit of brown or pink depending on your skin tone. In other words, don't wear red or deep brown or bright pink. :)

Maybe like a lighter blush pink color since the color of the dress is already bright? Or a brighter pink if you want something more noticeable. I'd find a shirt that's similar in color and try on different shades. Take pics (wooo selfie time) so you can compare how they look.
