OK. I just gotta know... What's with wearing make-up to practice? (for both cheer and dance)
I'm not talking everyday make-up that you wear anywhere... I'm talking full blown competition make-up. I keep seeing this on Facebook, Twitter, etc. - pictures of kids heading off to practice and they have red lipstick, glittery/smoky eyes, etc. What in the world? These kids usually range in age from 6 to 12.
I get it for camp and choreo (I mean... I really don't, but at least that's a "special practice") but for regular, weekly practice? Just... Why? (and pleeeeeeeease don't tell me it's so they "get used to wearing it" - that's nonsense. No one does that)
Seriously... Stop it.

On occasion (maybe 1-2 times per season), my kid will just feel like getting all dolled up for practice and go full hair and make up....this is usually when she needs some extra motivation to perform better for whatever reason. If she does this, she is 1000x more likely to take a selfie and post it on social media. It would then make it appear that she gets made up for practice, but it's definitely not the norm. Can't say this is the case for everyone, but by the looks of things the majority of athletes that practice during the same times my kid does, do not go to practices with make up on.
