it really depends on what you're looking for and what your diet is like. i've been gluten free for about 6 months and for the most part, my diet hasn't had to change. i eat heavy amounts of fruits, vegetables, and meat with some dairy mixed in. i replaced pasta with rice and that was that. for my carb cravings, i highly recommend Pamela's baking and pancake mix. its kind of like a bisquick, but you can make anything out of it... like biscuits, pancakes/waffles, cookies, muffins, breads, pizza, etc. its an easy go to. for nights i don't have time to cook my "fast foods" are either chipotle (everything except the tortilla for burritos is gluten free, so get a bowl) or ill stop at the grocery and grab a rotisserie chicken.

in the beginning it's an adjustment just having to be aware of everything you're eating, but it gets easier! if you're looking for any specific product recommendations, like breads or pastas, let me know! it's a lot of trial and error with the replacements and some are absolutely gross, but there are good things out there! if there are specific recipes you're looking for, too, or things you're trying to make let me know and ill try to help! for me, it was less about finding new recipes and more about finding ways to tweak things i already made and sub in gluten free ingredients.
I just eat fast food a lot, also fried foods and like quick meals. I just feel over whelmed, I've never really had to look at the ingredients of what I eat.

yeah, most fast food isn't going to work so you will have more of an adjustment than i had. i'd be lying if i told you it was easy peasy. that first month i was salivating over the thoughts of cookies and bagels and it sucked. you go through a legitimate withdrawal like an addict. but when it's over and you're past it, its not that difficult.

i don't know if you celiac or just a sensitivity, so your tolerance of fried food can vary. obviously, if its breaded like chicken nuggets or mozzarella sticks, it isn't going to work. french fries are actually safe (unless seasoned - check the spices used if they are seasoned) BUT are fried in the same oil as the breaded foods at most places so it is contaminated. if you have celiac i wouldn't suggest risking it, but i know plenty of people who have mild to moderate gluten sensitivity and they'll eat it anyway. like chik-fil-a's new grilled nuggets are gluten free, but again, the oil. if you're really on the go a lot and have no other choices, restaurant websites are going to be your new best friend. some places, a burger without a bun is fine, and some places its terrible. i don't think taco bell offers one gluten free option because they use "filler" in their meat, which has wheat in it. salads are usually a good choice, just ask for no croutons and check the dressing ingredients (this is usually easier at fast food places because the dressing comes with its nutrition label)

you'll figure it out! and try not to be too hard on yourself in the beginning. take it one meal at a time. you're probably going to mess up a few times and it'll be okay. eventually you'll feel so much better that you won't even miss it! (well, sort of.... my NJ roots will crave bagels and pizza no matter what. still working on it.)

Thank you so much. Me and my mom went grocery shopping last night but it was pretty limited because we just went to a small store in my town. I was just so surprised that wheat was in a lot of foods. Do you have any recommendations on gluten free bread or pasta?

If you're looking for snacks try Smartpop! It's gluten free and only 39 calories a cup. Tastes almost exactly like movie theater popcorn! They don't sell it at the little grocery stores in my town but they sell it at Walmart :)

Costco and Trader Joe's have tons of gluten free snacks, especially chips and crackers, mostly made with brown rice and/or quinoa. Trader Joe's - if you have one within driving distance it is absolutely worth the trip to stock up on nonperishables - has many varieties of gluten free pasta (again, usually brown rice) and bread (although I am not a fan of gluten free bread in general). Many larger supermarkets have a even a small natural foods section and often you can find many gluten free products there.

ETA: Quest protein bars are gluten free and delicious!

So I win.

I almost feel bad for Miley. This "wannabe-female-rapper-slash-video-vixen" trip is over, she'll have nothing to which to return.

That's a lie. I'm not defending her by any means.... but you must not be old enough to remember Xtina Aguilera's Dirrrrrrty phase.

Additionally Brit-Brit bounced back from 2007..... and did yall hear her unautotuned song? Like gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl

When I'm having a bad day I remind myself that if Britney Spears can get through 2007 I can get through anything.

The Genie phase, or the Not Myself Tonight phase? In my opinion, Britney and Xtina fit the risque image, miley doesn't. She looks too juvenile.

My brothers make me laugh. They're identical twins (13) and they're at a basketball camp where they get coached by Rondo. Well they got to take a picture with him tonight and literally posted it immediately and made it their Instagram profile pic immediately. They couldn't be more synchronized if they tried :D They were right in a row on my news feed and I thought one of them posted the same picture twice for a second

Watching Criminal Minds late at night when you live in an apartment probably isn't the best idea. I hope my neighbours can't hear through the walls.

On another note, I'm almost done with season 9. Anyone have recommendations for shows I can binge watch until season 10 starts and Community comes back?

House MD, Supernatural, and House of Cards are so good.
