I'm a soccer guy, so I liken it to the World Cup draw, but yeah, it's kinda cool. Anything you can do to spark interest in the event before the event is a good thing.

i think they would only do this on prelims, like at NCA

NCA college nationals did this for finals, or at least they used to. They have a "winners circle" where you wait until if/when you get bumped out by a higher score.

Is this for international divisions as well?? (Specifically referring to paid bids not having to do the preliminary competition)

i read that if there was more than a certain amount of teams in the international division then there will be a trials.

I like this a lot. It kind of acts like the US Trials do for the International teams. People were talking once about how it wasn't fair that the US International teams have to compete twice in one day so now the at large teams in the jam packed divisions will have to do the same thing on with a large number of people advancing. Love the idea a lot.

Also really like that they will draw names live on a webcast so it is out in the open how teams get their performance time.

International divisions already competed 3 times last year. The question is - If there are 40 teams in an international division - will the full paid bids now get to skip the early morning round and advance directly to the semi final round like all the other divisions.
