So, its not ok to wear a uni showing a bit of skin but its ok to wear a bikini to the beach???

Don't even get me started on this! Try wearing a bikini in public. Principals can suspend girls for sending a pic to a boy if they are in panties and a bra, but not a bikini. The uni the little girl in the picture with the boots is wearing is in my opinion inappropriate. and I think from the comments most parents agree. My daughter would not cheer for a club if she were that young with a uni like that.

personally the only problem i have with the fierce uni is the top seems to be a little on the short side but it seems to me most people are seeing the pose the one little girl is in plus the boots and uni and basing their opinion off that which to me seems a little bias oh well such is life

At the beach what you're wearing doesn't have to be athletic and functional. Some of these uniforms that show more simply aren't practical for performing. Personally I think they hurt our credibility as a sport with all of these wardrobe malfunctions.

I don't 'like' seeing anyone under the age of 13ish in a bikini either, quite frankly. But it seems like it's the only suit cuts they sell nowadays. I also don't understand why a 6-year-old needs a triangle top (considering what those tops emphasize), but I digress... I caused a splash with a triangle top bikini at 14-16 at a family gathering (and that was 6-8 years ago). Also- wasn't there an issue with some clothing store selling lightly padded swimsuit tops in children's sizes? Again, I'm digressing..I blame the holidays. Make my brain all loopy :D

I think you are absolutely right. The real issue is some of these uniforms and crazy make-up are hurting all star cheerleading's credibility as a sport. For some, it is one step above toddlers and tiaras! These athletes spend way too much time training to have to deal with skimpy uniforms and others (both inside and outside the sport) talking about them. Frankly, I wish the sport would eliminate crop tops and be done with it. Truly, if gymnasts, who train far more hours than all star cheerleaders, can handle their midriffs being covered, so should all star cheerleaders. JMO.

I disagree, they have not stated that they don't like cheer, they just want to see more people covered, I think the response to the statement would be 'find a gym that fits your moral values' no need to be snippy. Happy Christmaskah!

I think the glitz and glitter of all-star cheer is really what sets it apart and makes it both a performance and a sport. Uniforms are meant to be fabulous and cute and kind of sexy too - it's part of the all-star culture. However, when uniforms start to be non-functional, that's when it bothers me. Girls shouldn't have to worry about their uniforms falling off while they're performing. There's a difference between being creative with your uniform design and just being stupid. If your uniform is so skimpy that your athletes are constantly worried about a wardrobe malfunction, then you should probably reevaluate your design.

This worries me. Do people really think uniforms should be sexy? When we designed our uniforms, we wanted them to look athletic, clean, and be visual on the mat. I actually was aiming for the exact opposite of sexy- kids wear these...

i agree with you ...uniforms most importantly need to be functional while being visual on the floor... clean lines kinda play into the visual affect and they need to look athletic covering the appropriate parts of the body

it's probably a good thing that i don't have children, because i really didn't see anything wrong with the fierce lower level uniform. i was actually relieved that it the uniform was made to fit the little girls without being tight, which i think makes them look athletic. if anything, they couldve done without the off the shoulder top, but i really dont see a difference between this uniform and some of the practice wear i saw gyms competing in earlier this season (shorts & sports bras for lower levels as well).
