I thought just the opposite-that it was kinda tacky to throw their logo into something that had such meaning to the area.
Good point, that didn't initially occur to me.I thought just the opposite-that it was kinda tacky to throw their logo into something that had such meaning to the area.
I agree about the logo used in the "Orlando Strong" being tacky and thought perhaps the uniforms were a gift, especially since TG just made the switch from GK to Rebel this season. I heard, however, that the athletes paid for them. That could be wrong though.I totally agree. And when I saw that in the video, I thought "I sure hope they got these for free or at a discounted rate since they are using that slogan as an ad"
Mini 1 & youth 1 (one team purple, another one charcoal, third team black). We got sooo much heat from the parents for the level 1 uniforms. They thought it was too much fabric, ugly, boring, "they look like golfers/tennis players" etc etc. Are they really that bad? Keep in mind our level 1 teams only compete at local competitions.

TBH I agree with the parents. If they weren't holding up the stunt I would have thought it was tennis and golf. It just doesn't look like cheer. The upper level uniform tops are nice but skirt just looks like a skater skirt to me. If I was a parent with a kid on level 1 I would not be happy becasue they get a plain uniform while the upper levels get something nicer.Uniforms for my gym.

I think the collars give them a little bit of a tennis outfit feel. I appreciate simpler designs, and I don't think these are bad.
As a parent though, I would probably feel like the level 1 teams are not appreciated or not as important to the gym as the higher levels, because the higher levels got these nicer, blinged out unis. That's my American perspective though.

I'd be the opposite - think of how much cheaper the Level 1 uniforms would be for those parents! But also I never see the point spending a ton of money on a uniform, so eh. I would say get something that looks more like a cheer uniform for the level 1 athletes (the parents are right, it does look like golf/tennis), but you can still get a decently cheap uniform (under $70) if you look hard enough. Might placate the parents while also keeping costs down!
Either way, I looooove the upper level uniforms - especially the Senior Coed 6. Reminds me of a really clean, collegiate look with just enough bling.
Thanks for the input! All athletes pay for their own uniform. We chose simple uniforms for the level 1 teams because they only compete at smaller competitions, compete less than the higher level teams and because parents asked for cheap uniforms and more opportunities to use their uniform (they can practice in these). We also had in mind that we don't want to scare off new parents from the sport with an expensive uniform the first year. We thought the collars were super cute, but I know there are mixed opinions about using collars on cheer uniforms.I don't care for them. From a mom of a kid who struggled to get off level 1, it gives the impression that those teams are an afterthought. Why was the decision made? Cost?
