I used to cheer (age 7-18) but at 21, those days are long gone. My daughter is too young to cheer (not too concerned; cheering is in the blood) but I've been a cheer aunt for my niece for the past nine years. Am I a surrogate cheer mom? Lol. I'm a little nervous about being out of place.

I don't think you're out of place cheering on your niece. I've always appreciated those who sit through 3 hours of cheer to watch and support me for my 2 min30sec. If you're there to support her, you're not out of place. I wouldn't know what to call you though (surrogate cheer mom??) :)

I shall direct you to the 3 Year Old BHS thread...
Proving that there is no such thing as to young in cheerleading! I mean come on...if she's over 12 months she should be doing full ups by now...

Just in case there was any doubt...totally kidding!

My cp has a friend whose older sister pays for her all star cheer and takes her to all of her practices and comps. She fit right in with the rest of us cheer moms!
