Level 4 with 20 kids
We have a full up toe touch in the opening, 5 kick fulls and will have at least 1 double in the pyramid. Would adding 2 more baskets to the pyramid be beneficial since we've already met the 7?

Adding more tosses wouldn't help your pyramid difficulty score. I can't comment on what impact it would have on your choreography, flow of routine or Toss Technique score. Only you know that.

Just to clarify...and I think this was asked before. The only level three running tumbling pass that can count for two skills is a punch front pause (or roll out) round off handspring tuck, correct?

That is correct, except what you described is already two passes, so it's still one pass = one skill at Level 3.

It sounds like you may have been misscored. I would contact your event producer.

I throw 8 total baskets in a level 3 routine with 20 kids (4 pike opens in opening, 4 fulls before pyramid) without front spots (others are tumbling during this time). Would I still max out since 8 tosses would technically be 100% (5 baskets) plus three additional. Or does it make a difference that not everyone is involved at once?

My understanding is that you actually ony have to do 4 team tosses because the basket requirement includes front spots. So you actually have more than you need.

It's okay if you don't use front spots. That is just how the judges determine the number of tosses needed to max. You take the number of kids on the team, divide it by 5 in a toss group. Then you add 3 tosses to that number and thats how many you have too throw in the entire routine.

ASCheerMan This past weekend was my first time competing on the Varsity score sheet & let me tell you how impressed I was (AmeriCheer Buckeye Open Nationals). I was using this comp as my "foot in the water test" to see if we'd make the full switch to Varsity and I'm happy we took the chance!! The judging across the board was so accurate from Day 1- Day 2 and the comments we received were very constructive. Sometimes in a 2 day comp (and even 1 day) you see difficulty scores range across the judges - not here. The judges seemed to very trained on the score sheet and noted very minor details that would add to value. I was so impressed with the scoring. Kudos to Varsity for training your judges well!
