No, but there are height restrictions, so if the flyer was to pass above extended level it would no longer be legal, even if they are landing in a prep.

I have a question... what would you get more points for in level 2 dismounts from a one leg stunt... 1/4 turn cradle, or bump down BWO out of stunt? Or would the BWO be considered an inversion and not a dismount?

Express ups and switch ups to prep (without contact) are also legal at level 3

Hello all,

I was looking over the scoring guidelines and had a few level 3 questions

What would be a release move to prep level or below for level 3?

Also what are examples of an inversion to prep level or below?

I've watched level 3 teams that have won and didn't see any type of stunts like that, but did notice World Cup Electra did switch up to heel stretches. Isn't that a level 4 skill?

You can do an express up (switch up) to an extended one legged stunt in level 3 as long as the backspot has one of the flyers ankles the entire time. The backspot grabs the ankle of the foot that is on the ground before they switch. My level 3 team is planning on doing those this year.

Depending how you do this, it is illegal in level 2.

It may be technically straight-up, but you will get more points on any scoresheet than a traditional straight-up lib.

The BWO out of a stunt would only be legal if the flyers feet are on the ground before they become inverted...every year, a LOT of level 2 teams BWO from a cradle & it's illegal because it's a downward inversion & not legal until level 3.

Well currently they bump down and put their left foot on the floor, and the right foot stays in the bases hands since it was the one the flyer was standing on, and they BWO with the right leg going over first... if that makes sense?

That's legal and creative. If you already have a cradle from an extended stunt and your team looks better doing this than a cradle for one leg, then do this. ASCheerMan will always tell you you will score best doing what looks best or something to that effect.

I did that with my J2 a couple years ago. We only competed it twice I think because they couldn't do it as clean as I wanted :D

To answer your question though, I would think the 1/4 turn cradle would score higher as a dismount. The bump down in the second example would probably be considered your dismount, with the bwo considered a transition.

I'm kind of at the same point! It's definitely creative but not as clean as I would like it to be... a 1/4 cradle would be an easy change though, so we can keep working and see how much further we get before competition time. I appreciate your help though, because some of the terminology and the way things fall into certain categories can get confusing at times! Thank you!! =)
