I am arguing that the choice of style belongs to the individual. I , unlike others , am not saying "crop top only". I want to again make it clear the image rules are silly and I do not believe that the usasf should be allowed to say that full tops must be the only choice for junior teams and below.
I am arguing choice, personal responsibility, and an evenhanded and common sense approach to settling disputes on uniforms rather then a heavy handed and unreasonable mandate.
I am arguing that full tops, crop tops, shorts, skirts, etc should be designed by the individual club.

Isn't that the approach we have now? And it hasn't worked well, to say the least...unless you're suggesting another method entirely?

Why has it not worked? 99.99% of every uniform out there has no problems.

I would disagree with that statistic, but regardless...in situations like this, a couple bad apples have ruined it for the bunch. There are only so many times a boob can pop out of a uniform before someone in charge says "that's it".

I am confident that if put to a vote that this would never pass. This is why the usasf and the board of directors took this route.

For now the minority opinion rules, but that is only due to reactionary decision by an out of touch B.O.D. I for one will continue to try and reverse this poorly thought out "guideline".

Honestly I think juniors and seniors should be allowed half tops. I'm like the biggest girl on my teams (I'm a crossover) and truthfully the half top has taught me to just flaunt what I have and not care what everyone else thinks.

I don't mind this rule change one bit. Sorry but seeing overweight cheerleaders with their bellies overhanging their skirts is just too much sometimes. And you can see how many poor girls don't like their uniforms, just watch how many girls walk around all day with their hands wrapped around their waist trying to cover their bare bellies. The only time crop tops look decent is when your physically fit with 0% body fat.

I have to say I am the biggest girl on my team and I actually feel better in the half top than the full top, mind you I'm a very quiet person but before I joined cheer I used to hate my stomach. The first time I put on the half top for competition, I started to feel more confident about my belly.

In my opinion crop tops were not really the issue at all. Crop tops have been around forever but now it is becoming an issue because so many gyms are really pushing the limits on what is appropriate and too many girls at too young of an age are comfortable running around in practically nothing. I would also have to say that I think a lot of uniforms would be much more flattering and less revealing if they were fitted properly. Some gyms have beautiful uniforms but on one girl it will be baggy and on the next practically everything is visible. Proper fitting is what we really need :)

Amen! My gym doesn't have an inappropriate uniform. We have the half tops but we pull the skirts up to our belly buttons. Just fit the kids better when getting your uniforms!

and not tiny, mini, and youth.

If this uniform rule is passed, I'll continue to cheer no matter what but that's solely because I love what I'm doing.

Who ever has problems with crop tops should pay for every single gyms full tops cause your the ones maKing the biggest deals out of them!!!

It doesn't go into effect for another what 3 seasons so I am sure your gym will have bought new uniforms by then and if they are smart they will go ahead and change to a full top.

It doesn't go into effect for another what 3 seasons so I am sure your gym will have bought new uniforms by then and if they are smart they will go ahead and change to a full top.

If they are smart they will join the fight and get this silly image thing kicked.....!!! A lot will happen in three years so don't count your full tips till thier hatched :)
