My sister works at Mass General Hospital. She's not coming home anytime soon :(

Two of my undergrad roomies are nurses, one at Brigham and one at Mass Gen. One at MGH ended her shift at 3, but Brigham is in the middle of a 12-hr. Have a feeling she'll be there a lot longer =/

i'm shocked and terrified by the events, praying for all the people over there :(

The long hours and hard work she'll have to put in are so appreciated. Every single person who is doing something to help is my hero right now.

I live in Massachusetts and it terrifies me thinking that such a horrendous catastrophe could happen less than an hour away from my home. No, I was not in Boston today but it feels like I was. I know several people who went to watch runners cross the finish line and they are shaken and very emotional about it. Prayers to all runners and spectators injured as well to everyone affected emotionally. :(

I'm in Providence, which is ~40 miles away from Providence. I had a few friends who were running/celebrating the marathon today (it's a pretty big holiday among college students), and it was just terrifying waiting to hear how they were doing. I was so thankful for Twitter to keep me updated.

Whoever did this to Boston better be very very afraid.

My prayers are with everyone affected.

Thought you all would enjoy this....

I'm getting ready and have the local Boston news on the TV. The reporter asked a congressman if he thinks they will have the Boston Marathon next year. His response? I know this city. I know these people. There will be twice as many people running next year.

I literally got chills. THIS is why I am so proud to be from New England and call Boston my city.
