Maddie did a new video with Sia! I think it might be my favorite one so far. It looks so fun to do that dance. (Also I listened to that whole album and it's really great. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing Maddie dance with Sia.)

My favorite dance so far is Elastic Heart. As a person who dealt with having a parent with mental illness I can never NOT cry while watching it.
Sia is my spirit animal. Almost all of her songs speak to a piece of my life.

I feel like SYTYCD wouldn't have jumped the shark so quickly if they had someone else judging in Nigel's place, since he's also a producer.

I have always felt they should lower the age to 16 but 8-13 is ridiculous. They will also be dancing with the All Stars, please tell me how they will choreograph an 8 year old with someone like Twitch?
I just hope they only take one small fry and the rest are older.

The line from Elastic Heart "Ill walk through fire to save my life" is one of my favorite lyrics ever. Sia does an amazing job at portraying tough subjects like that in a poetic yet very raw way. It's so strange. I will never forget watching Chandelier for the first time. I don't think I breathed the entire video. It was so haunting and beautiful.

Have you listened to "Bird Set Free" off of her new album? The lyrics are so good.

They had auditions in New York on Friday and Saturday, I was thinking of allowing my daughter to tryout, but I could not commit to the time schedule (6 months or more) had she made it on the show... Well, I said all of that to mention, looking at the paperwork to audition, it appears the show is trying to skewed towards the older ages... The contestants actually need to be turning 9 by showtime, but can be 14 by show airing (?May 30th)

I think the videos are a continuing story. Kind of like parts of Sia's life. I'm guessing she was Frantic and crazy back in the day. I like the actual dancing in this one, and of course, the music.

I watched last night's episode and was aghast by the behavior of the adults in this studio... These parents need to watch and learn from the children... The children showed that they are not pawns in these adults game and have a lot of class..

The immature adults spent the whole episode fishing for drama...
1st with this rigged contest to decide if Brynn will be invited to be on the team at ALDC, had that been me and my daughter, I would have walked out of this charade...Abby should have taken charge and accepted Brynn on the team...
2nd, having the 2 trio concept, knowing 1 girl will be left out, DRAMA... What was funny about it the lackluster response from Nia.., Nia only responded, after being badgered about not being chosen, please give it a break...
3rd, I felt Maddie messed up on purpose, she knows ALDC is part of her past, so why should she be sweating a win and possibly, Maddie did not want to be in the middle(pawn) of Abby's decision to put Brynn on the team... Maddie, probably thinking, lady stop trying to pull me into your messes.

Lastly, Jill's little tantrum, when Kendall lost to Brynn and the possibility, Brynn taking that covet spotlight away from Kendall, once Maddie and Co. Exit from ALDC... Boy, did Jill had a major meltdown and wanted to see the scoresheet, instead of taken Abby's word about the point total...Brynn's team had a 2 to 3 point advantage over Maddie's team.

I just hate Brynn's mom. She instigates so much. No one's discrediting your child, Melissa and Jill just wanted to make sure the right dance was awarded first because they mixed up the numbers and it's possible it could have happened. It might have been edited out, but no one mentioned anything was rigged until she tries to put that in Jill's mouth. Brynn is a great dancer but her mom throwing shade at Kenzie doing dances in pigtails (ETA: I think one of the temporary mini moms actually said that about Kenzie but I'm sure Ashlee was thinking it too), saying Kalani isn't "as good as she used to be", or everything she says about Kendall just ruins wanting Brynn on the team because Ashlee will be around

Imagine being Brynn, or any of the girls, and having their kids watch this years from now in the future. They'll be like "Yep, that's nana. She's always been crazy."

I think that Abby enjoys taking Ashlee for the ride though, which is totally manipulative.

The mama drama is all scripted drama though; I'm sure Ashlee isn't the greatest person to be around, but I think a lot of what makes her go off is edited out after the fact so it makes her look crazier than she is.

I get editing action and reaction but starting a convo with "Kalani's not as good as she used to be" is just plain ol talking crap about a kid. I get her and Kira don't like each other but Kalani's a child compared to her adult self. No one in their right mind would agree to a scripted fight where they start it by talking crap about a kid.
