OT The Dance Moms Thread!

I am really unhappy about the route SYTYCD has taken. It's gone from a ligit show to crappy reality TV. Won't be watching.

I haven't watched an entire season since the season with the bench routine....which had to have been 5 years ago by now

I tried to watch last season because a local person was on it...but I just can't commit to watching something like that in summer.

Doubt I'll watch this season unless the kids at work start talking about it, although I did like American Juniors more than American Idol....

It's been a while since I enjoyed SYTYCD, so I won't be watching. Hopefully Maddie has fun.

Hmm, Maddie is a great dancer, though I don't think she is anything extraordinary anymore. I also question her ability to choreograph and critique. I don't think that has ever been highlighted on Dance Moms. I'm sure there are cheer judges who can't throw a back handspring but they have an eye for the artistry and technique. It's the same with Maddie. Just because she can dance does not mean she can properly judge someone. I have a feeling she'll end up being the "nice" judge.

I must admit last nights episode pissed me off to the highest pissivity...

The 1st piss off came with the fake dishing out of dance assignments...Hey, so Maddie is the holy grail in this studio...She was 2nd from the bottom on the pyramid, but everyone treated not being assigned a dance with her is the road to dance competition doom..hmm, and you wondered why the Zeiglers had the attitude that this ALDC studio will be nothing without them... Can it be because all the dancers and moms believe this is so...

2nd piss off, why these moms are slamming Kira, Kalani's Mom for staying home and taking care of a newborn baby, so she is doing what a Mom supposed to be doing, staying Home with her newborn baby and possibly suckling this baby...As far as I remembered and learned in Health class, I don't think Men have evolved to be able to suckled a newborn baby! Maybe they can, Abby!

3rd pissed off, wait a minute, I need a 'mercial break... brb!

My kids are not allowed to watch but I had one in with my sick at like at 1 AM so I stuck on the DVR to keep me awake while she was half awake/half asleep and pukey and out of it... only thing she said she heard was the part where the moms were mad that a mom with a baby was not there.... next morning she declared the show and all its people stupid. Said "Mom even I know a baby needs their mom."

I'm not 100% sure if she will have to choreograph since not all the judges too. But the ones who are dancers themselves used to have a dance that they would choreograph. Maybe it's changed since I watched it last... like 5 years ago.

I thought the show was 18+? Now kids can audition? Yeesh.

I'm honestly starting to hate this show. Too much abuse and drama going on for me. I think I commented on this thread like once. This show to me is not a good representation of what competition dance is really like

This show has also given many dance moms especially the new ones the "okay" to act out when things don't go their way. This is not all moms okay but hopefully you get my drift

The episodes are getting harder and harder to watch especially when you know how fake and staged it all is. I thought the new mom did a huge disservice to her elder daughter by allowing her to appear on camera and if you look her up on YT her technique (especially her releve when turning) is out of their world for her age. She absolutely COULD have and likely should have danced with the junior team if it weren't for the needed drama.

Yeah, I definitely thought that was dumb. I am pretty sure Kaylee could dance circles around the junior team. I've seen a lot of her performances and she really is phenomenal. I thought it was silly to even attempt to put her on the mini team when she looks SO much older than the other girls. Although I have accepted that the show is just a bunch of made up drama so whatever:rolleyes:

Just looked up Kaylee's twitter and found out she is actually on the TV show Stitchers. Very cool!

ETA: I'm not shocked she wasn't happy with doing an immature dance because at Dance Precisions, where I believe she is from, they never did "little kid" type dances. Even when they were 7 or 8 they were doing mature and advanced choreo. She was one of the girls in that Run the World dance that I believe has been posted on here before.

Yep! About showing Abby she is better than Abby thinks she is. I'm a fan. I also liked when they asked her about the older girl who was dancing with them and she was like "she's supposed to be a leader of our team but... *something sassy I forgot*"
