OT The Dance Moms Thread!

My friend told me about a competition her cousin's kids competed at where ALDC was there. They were filming the first season so it was a bigger, more respectable competition. Anyway her cousin brought her 3 year old to the competition and apparently the child was "in the way" of the film crew so one of the cameramen picked him up and put him somewhere else.

ehh, its kinda sad, abby has these girls thinking they are the best of the best and they have all these national titles. when in reality the network is creating fake competitions just so the girls can win. i get it now as to why they dont compete at others cause of the cameras, but still. your creating fake comps, and more then likely inviting mediocre talent in order for your girls to have an edge. i mean when the girls get older and look back they're probably gonna be like "hey i have all these titles that dont even really mean anything".......
its really not doing the girls any good, i mean your dancing never improves because they never see any of the amazing talent that is out there like sophia, autumn miller, etc.

Eh I kinda disagree. I'm sure the girls know the difference between a real competition and competition for television.

And regardless of the drama all the girls are very talented dancers.

I hate going to dance competitions / recitals but I love watching dancemoms and watching them perform.

However, ALDC does compete outside of dance moms and they compete at more well known competitions. For example Maddie competed at Nuvo against Brynn from Club Dance and she got 2nd

The Club Dance girls give me life. I follow Alexa Moffet and Molly Long on insta and I'm constantly blown away by the talent ( and choreography).

Doesn't Molly Long own a studio in Cali named Dance Precisions? Or is she the head choreographer? I forgot

Molly is a choreographer for Dance Precisions. She choreographed the famous/infamous "single ladies" dance w/ the little girls you may have seen on YouTube. Those girls were wearing the same costume that the dance moms girls wore for that "electricity" number from the first season (if you remember that), only in red.

DP is a very well known competition studio - they are thought of as one of the top studios in the country. They are also known to be on the "controversial side" when it comes choreography for the younger girls (as evidenced by the single ladies dance ;)).

She doesn't own the studio, but she does teach! She actually danced there growing up as well. I believe Alexa (club dance) and Molly (dp) are both only 21 and have been teaching for a couple of years!

I don't know about owning Precisions, but I do see her choreographing for Club Dance quite often. And I love watching the Precisions girls too!

Just watched it but yes, Ava does look extremely scary thin. I can't imagine there's any fat whatsoever on her body. I know people are naturally thin but I don't know if I'd say that is "naturally thin." .

I think she's naturally thin PLUS growing like a weed. She's at just the age for a growth spurt which will turn any naturally thin kid into a stick!

Not a fan of the group dance, but Cathy was making me soooo upset. Like what kind of sane person would send their kids to her studio after that?

I was so happy that Nia won first overall. Just the look on her and Holly's face when they called her in first made that one of my favorite episodes to date.

It seems 'Raising Asia' thread got blended into the Dance Moms thread, but I was wondering had anyone watched this show and what are the thoughts you have on it?

I for one, thought that this Asia girl needs to bring it down a couple 1000 notches and the last show, really saw how the production crew realized Asia could not carry a whole show by herself and was trying to do a 'Milli Vanilli' on the crowd...
But I am going to stop there and wait for responses from the Fierce Boarders...

I'm glad Nia won first place, I'm also glad that Abby did appear to work on her dance at all


Both of the new moms last night were very odd.


Also. Kendall got 1st place in the junior division and 2nd overall.

Nia got 1st in teen and 1st overall.

Sarah got 2nd in teen and 4th overall.

Lucas danced in the junior division and got 2nd and 3rd overall. Which is why he's mama was there with Kathy.

I just hate ole Abby made Kendall look like she "was second" when in reality she won her division. We can't all be first Abs.
