just saying, I know that there are a good portion of high school cheerleading teams that don't have good coaches, but not as many as some people think. Coming from allstars to high school this year, ( i did both last year) I went up against some teams that did have bad coaches, but most of the teams with bad coaches don't compete, and therefore the athletes don't really throw their skills anyway. Luckily in my area we have numerous strong high school cheerleading teams (upper darby, father judge, haverford, ridley (kelly yeagers team) and many more that go to high school nationals) I compete against these teams and most of the teams in my central league and my area don't have bad coaches. Your colleagues comment just came off kind of offensive to me being a high school cheerleader because I know there is an assumption that high school cheerleading coaches aren't as serious or as skilled, and I agree that some coaches aren't, but I did all stars for 9 years and I came across the same number of bad all star tumbling coaches as high school. I feel very bad for what happened to the sport of all star cheerleading today, but just because we don't have a worlds or half tops doesn't mean we don't have good coaches. Sorry for the long post but I just took offense to what your colleague said and wanted to clear it up that we do have good coaches, it depends on what school you go to and how serious your school takes cheerleading.
