There were pros and cons. I'm wondering your thoughts on mini 3?

I've only been dealing with Allstar for 4 years with my CP, and haven't seen a mini 3 team. Do they even exist?

From what I've seen with the talent on some of these Y3-Y5, teams I think the possibility of a few talented mini3 teams nationwide exists. But to be competitive they would probably just make it a Y3.

I have seen min 3 teams take the floor, and that was my concern as well. Not so much the tumbling, but the attempt to do level 3 stunts with such small bases.

I can tell you that in my experience, one of the biggest areas of struggle for kids is that junp between levels 2 and 3 (in terms of stunting.)

As a parent I can agree with you. My CP is on a level 3 team. The team is full of talented and above skill level tumblers but the stunting is always a challenge.

Plus...they'd never, hardly ever, get to compete against anyone. Back when cp was on mini2 I remember there were many comps where they were the only one in the division. Heck, I remember traveling to ATL for a 2 day comp (no, not Cheersport, lol) and they were the only M2! They won a blingy "Natl Champs" sweatshirt and everything. There's no fun in that! I can't even imagine what'd be like with a M3!!

To me it sounds unsafe to have mini aged kids basing level 3 stunts, but then I often thing that about youth 5 too...
I think with youth kids the maturity level can be high enough for them to safely executed watered down level 5 skills, as long as they are taught properly.

Yes! When cp moved from M2 to Y3, she took a self-imposed yearlong hiatus from flying. She was just too scared. She got back up there her second year of Y3, when she felt more comfortable with the process. So glad no one pushed her or made her feel bad for being scared. Heck, it scares me and I'm not the one doing it! :p

Oh god not that again. Fairly sure that existed when I had just started cheering as I always remember my level 2 coach trying to push my team to go level 3 and I was about 7 at the time. No way in gods earth do I want that coming back. Being an assistant coach at a rec class now, there are kids that age who have been cheering for as long as some kids on my gym's mini team and sometimes their stunting can be scary. Heck there are senior kids that can have scary stunting so unless they are some super talented kids with cheering talents well beyond their years, the they can jog on.

As obsessed as I was with Matrix's mini 3 team in 2011? I think it was, I'm glad this division has died.

It's not just about maturity, though. (I'm assuming you're talking mental maturity) It's about physical development. The nerve and muscle development just isn't there in youth and especially mini aged athletes.
