All-Star Thoughts On Mini 3?

I know only 1 gym around me that has 1 youth level 3 team. Theres only 1 gym around me with youth level 4.
There aren't many gyms that field youth 3+. It's not as deep a division as say Senior 2, which is what you had said you only see 3 max.

I think it should not exist. The stunts at level 3 are much harder and cognitively and developmentally I doubt that the vast majority of mini age athletes would be able to safely and consistently perform a routine at that level without putting multiple children at risk for various orthopedic and concussive injuries.

Tumbling at a certain level does not mean an athlete is ready for the mind body and ability to work dynamically and communicate effectively in a stunt group required for higher level stunting.

I don't know.. We didn't see many large y3 teams last year but IIRC there were 27 small y3 at WSF and there are 12 this year. We don't see the same competition volume we did in Y2 but it's not a ghost division either.

agreed!
We are almost at our 4th competition of the season.
Two of the competitions we have seen 3 teams
And the other two we have seen 5 Y3's

We actually have had more than both our large j3 and small s3 a few times. Which makes me happy because we are competing against them for end of the season varsity jackets and if we attain the same score then varsity goes off what team competed against the most teams gets the jacket so I like competing against more.

It's a nice division, and it will be a tough one for us this weekend!

It may be just me but when I attended comps actively I never saw very many Level 4 teams across the board (Youth, Junior, or Senior.)

We don't compete on the "big gym" circuit and we see a fair number of Y3. There are almost always at least 2 at comps, but we never see Y4. J3 is the most common level 3 team and we will see J4, but more commonly S4.

Definitely. Youth 3 definitely is gaining in popularity. There were always a handful last year at our competitions and now this year that seems to have multiplied. Now, youth 4 is definitely a division you don't see a ton but even so there are definitely a fair number of teams especially at the larger gyms.

I don't remember if I saw a J4 team ever at a competition :P The only nearby gym with a J4 team is from State and I think Tri-state too but we barley see them at comps

like youth 4 and 5, junior 4 and 5 and senior 1 and 2 sometimes 4.2? There aren't many gyms with youth 3, 4, and 5 and senior 1 and 2 and 4.2 in my area :p
Really?! 4.2 is a huge division in my area

none of the nearby gyms near me has 4.2. State used to. Victory Vipers did have 4.2 for a few months but switched down to 2 for the rest of the season cause to many people were getting hurt.
