All-Star Top Gun Division Change?

I can understand a preference for a uniformity at the senior level in regards to flyers look (even some smaller people do look older: I haven't grown much height-wise since 13, but I sure as heck look older!), which in years past perhaps this team had. And while a little one on Top Gun sticks out, it's not just because she's smaller in comparison, it's also cause she's earned her spot and rocks her share of the work. Maybe the other girls at a more senior level-look need to pull their weight to earn that spot.

I'm disappointed in Top Gun because they don't have staff parking!!! Really ruffles my feathers!

They probably just couldn't field enough guys for an unlimited team. Not every area is just a wealth of high school aged boys who can tumble and stunt at high level and willing to commit to a team of that caliber. It's happening all across the country. Look at the unlimited competition circa 05/06 vs today.

alot of their guys aged out...alot are now on their i5 team!

hating on that "little girl" is ridiculous cuz she is BEAST... most beautiful body positions, baskets and double full. pretty sure she is more than entitled to have her spot on that team

I agree that these very talented kids earned their spot but IMO having 12 year olds with 16,17 &18 year olds looks silly. Unless you have the 12 year old that looks like 15. When I watch teams I love when the flyers are all around the same in size and maturity. I think if you are going to fly young tiny flyers great but they should all be around the same in size otherwise the tiny one as fabulous as she is looks out of place. JMO

on my team we have an 18 year old that is less than 5 feet tall so everyone thinks shes too young..

Gaaaaah I was disappointed in Top Gun because they didn't come to Cheersport this year! My whole gym was like let down... Whenever will they learn to stop doing whats best for Top Gun and start doing what is best for other people (total strangers in particular)!

maybe wc, maryland twisters, and top gun all realized that cheersport scoring is super wack?

Top Gun will be returning to the Unlimited Coed Division for 2011-2012.

As for now we like the competitiveness of the division we are in.

If its a worlds team no matter how "tiny" you may think they are they still have to be 12 or over!!!

i agree. if they fit the age range and skill level i don't think that it should matter their size...the smallest flyer on our senior team is 12...but she's an amazing flyer and has a double full and almost standing full...regardless of her size, she clearly earned that spot! top gun is amazing regardless of the size of their flyers.

Oh I don't hate on her at all, I completely agree that she's an all-around incredible cheerleader. My opinion on her is that she's just too young for that team, I mean c'mon, she's 13. She's tiny enough that their junior 5 team would have no trouble tossing her in the air, so truthfully I see no reason for her to be on a senior team. Sure she's good, but she'll still be that good (if not better?!) by the time she's of age to be on that team so the coaches should have waited until then

You know, not all of them are 12...there are plenty of really small girls 5'4'' and under...in fact, there's a whole section in stores for them called "petites" and omg there are actually entire stores who only sell petite clothes (you know for women who are just as short) :rolleyes:


Just bc someone is super tall doesn't mean they're automatically good at basketball..same thing for flyers...being small doesn't automatically make you a good flyer.

Trust me, I get that! I'm under 5'4 myself haha :) And I understand that some people are just naturally short, but there's a difference between being short for your age and being young for your team, ya know?

If you are talking about Gabi on Top Gun, they don't have a Junior 5 team. She is 100% absolutely on the right team for her age and skill set.
