I don't particularly care where the arms are as long as they are not too wide, even, and in front of their body. I hate when coaches allow an athlete to grab behind the legs. Hello that will never twist.
If they weren't taught to grab their butt and thighs in tucks this problem would be almost eliminated. It is also why so many cheer tumbling layouts are piked over from vertical to landing. In pulling their legs over their head they pike when the pull.

You can not rush good technique. Just because you can do the skill does not mean you are doing it with proper technique. But when you are rushing to get skills to try out for a higher level, or when you are taught the only thing that matters is landing it technique is thrown out the window. Also just because you can throw a skill and show a skill does not mean you know how to teach a skill. Lastly a lot more kids are self taught on their trampolines at home. Lots of bad techniue picked up there as well.
Isn't that called a Pike? LOLI don't particularly care where the arms are as long as they are not too wide, even, and in front of their body. I hate when coaches allow an athlete to grab behind the legs. Hello that will never twist.
