High School Uniform Trends And Problems

For high school uniforms, they should be basic, and nothing too revealing. An ideal uniform for me is a full shell with no cut-out areas, a pleated skirt (knife-pleat or box pleat), and a full bodysuit (with snap crotch). I also think every high school cheerleader should wear pantyhose as well. I always wear Sheer Energy nude or suntan color nylons with my uniform. It makes our legs look so much more even-toned and attractive. They are especially nice during football season for cooler nights.

I have no problem with booty shorts. In fact, I think bodysuits should be made with either the standard bottom or the booty-short bottom, such as this one: Red Lycra Biketard Leotard Boy Cut Bodysuit Cheerleading Ladies Size Large | eBay
I'm thinking about buying that bodysuit for next season. It's a custom-made one that I wish would be readily available like regular bodysuits are.

Wouldn't pantyhose make it hard to stunt? I can't imagine being able to grip my flyers leg when she has on pantyhose. Plus, TMI, they create a very warm environment which can cause bacteria to grow in those places where we don't want bacteria. Just saying!

Agreed! I wore pantyhose for a year cheering rec and stunting with them is a nightmare.

The snap bodysuits are, in my opinion, awful. They're just not practical for any type of tumbling or stunting for flyers. I prefer the crop bodysuits. The full length ones get in the way and the crop eliminates any issues I've ever had! I always wore Nike Pro spandex with my uniform instead of buying the really flimsy, see through Chasse ones that usually come with a team order.

I wouldn't want to wear pantyhose while cheering. Stunting or tumbling would be so hard having to worry about whether or not your pantyhose will rip, or a back spot not being able to grab an ankle

Well, you're making quite an assumption here -- that all cheerleaders do stunting. My squad does not. We only do sideline cheer at football and basketball games. And FYI, most cheerleaders in the 70's and 80's wore pantyhose with their uniforms, and it was never a problem. Perhaps there was far less stunting back then, I don't know. Without any stunting, everything that I mentioned that I prefer for cheer uniforms works just fine.

Besides, my boyfriend LOVES it when I wear nylons with my uniform! And I've never had any problem with that other stuff you mentioned. LOL

Pantyhose just aren't practical IMO for most schools due to the fact that they do stunt. I had a flyer that wore them once and our backspot had such a hard time gripping her ankles our coach made her go inside the school during a Friday night football game and take them off...

You're wasting your time. Leaira is obsessed with panty hose and the 70s and 80s. And I don't believe for one hot second that she is a teenage girl. It's been more than 2 years since she posted, yet her posts haven't changed?

I'm just amazed that there is someone in the world who enjoys snap crotch bodysuits. Those things are the most uncomfortable clothing item I've ever worn (including the shoes I wore once that left me with seriously bruised feet for months afterward)

I guess I'm not the only one, otherwise cheer uniform companies wouldn't sell them anymore. Everyone has their own preferences, which is why they make both kinds. Some girls prefer the separate pieces, while I prefer the one-piece.
